The person should have the strength of character and charisma to motivate the people, devise appropriate relief policies for the disabled and the elderly, guarantee basic workers\u2019 rights, build infrastructure at the barest cost and create an industrial Delta where everyone who seeks can find employment\u201d the leaders said.<\/p>\n<p>At a meeting convened by Urhobo Leaders of Thought, a group advancing the synergy of Urhobo stakeholders in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, representatives of all Urhobo associations, traditional institutions, professional bodies and opinion leaders vowed to support Dr. Ngozi Olejeme,<\/p>\n<p>A statement signed by Chief Nicholas Akpomiemie, chairman of Urhobo Leaders of Thought, advised other aspirants, particularly those from Delta South and Delta North not to dissipate any more energy to challenge Olejeme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOlejeme will not only win the primaries but at the same time win the 2015 governorship election\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To pick Olejeme, the leaders said experience in government, solid political structure, and track record of achievement, contacts and acceptability within Delta Central and across the state were the qualities which determined the choice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOlejeme is a suitable person for the Delta State exalted seat. She is a woman of wisdom, integrity, honesty and vision. She is also a grassroots mobilizer and the only governorship aspirant in the state that has credible structures in the three senatorial districts<\/p>\n<p>They described her as a wonderful philanthropist whose generous hands transcend ethnic or religious barriers.<\/p>\n<p>On the expectations of Deltans, the leaders said \u201cOlejeme will evolve dynamic and progressive programmes which will re-engineer the private sector and accelerate the improvement in infrastructure, industry and agriculture. The federal character commission recently adjudged NSITF as one of the most transparent and most equitable government agencies in Nigeria.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, the attention of the NSITF has been drawn to the fraudulent activities of some scammers using the internet and other social media platforms to swindle innocent job seekers, with promises of fake job<br \/>\nvacancies in the agency.<br \/>\nNSITF in a statement frowned at this act and dissociates itself from the activities of the scammers, the agency also warned the public to disregard individuals requesting for monies or any form of gratification in exchange for job opportunities in the agency,<br \/>\ninsisting that it employs strictly based on competence.<\/p>\n<p>Okpe leaders drum support for Olejeme<\/p>\n<p>Key issues in development like industrialization, higher education, good governance, opportunities for Okpe sons and daughters at the state and federal levels and how the people can improve their living standards took the centre stage in the politics of Okpe Kingdom on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of the Okpe communities, the religious, students, artisans, business executives and elders who spoke on exemplary leadership that would see majority of Okpe people moving out of poverty, hopelessness and unemployment, said they were ready to support merit, performance, freshness and new ideas in the choice of the next governor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c&#8217;The next governor must be someone of impeccable character and a track record in public or private sector\u201d a statement issued by the President General, Okpe-Sapele Political Vanguard,\u00a0 Mr. Onoriode Oghene in Ugbimidaka-Elume, Sapele\u00a0 Local Government Area said.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said the representatives resolved collectively to stand behind a member of the Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Program (SURE-P), Dr. Ngozi Olejeme in the governorship election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have searched, researched and continually asserted in the last four months that the governorship slot must be for the best and simply the best. \u201cDr. Ngozi Olejeme is the best person for the job\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Explaining that the decision was taken to reward industry, performance and achievement, the statement said Olejeme would offer the people responsible and accountable leadership as well as transform the kingdom and the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor years, Olejeme worked non- stop to alleviate the suffering of the people. The records of what she did for the people are there. We know Deltans, particularly Okpe people are politically conscious, people who know what is good for them and can make good comparison. No amount of inducement can make the people to support another aspirant\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>They urged the deputy governor, former and serving commissioners, National Assembly members, a retired police officer and others not to challenge the people&#8217;s choice&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>They also urged Deltans at home and abroad to rise against mediocrity and protect their rights and their votes.<\/p>\n<p>Anioma youths urge support for Olejeme<\/p>\n<p>Delta North political leadership came under the searchlight of Anioma youths Sunday and they did not fail in telling the elders how to make progress in the land. Indeed, they told the elders that they have looked round the area and seen there was only one person that could promote the people\u2019s welfare and take the state to greater heights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe Dr. Ngozi Olejeme\u2019s experience in the public and private sector and her record in the public service have sufficiently placed her in a vantage position to provide desirable leadership in the state\u201d the youths said.<\/p>\n<p>The youths in a statement issued in Asaba promised to campaign hard across the length and breadth of the state, noting that most of the rumoured contestants for the governorship seat have nothing to offer the area.<\/p>\n<p>Signed by the President General, Anioma Youth Leaders Movement, Mrs. Chinelo Elue, the statement extolled the charming qualities of Dr. Olejeme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr. Olejeme is a great daughter of Anioma, a pride to Delta State and Nigeria. Her emergence will foster unity and progress in Delta State\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>Delta leaders reaffirm support for Olejeme<\/p>\n<p>Delta State Leaders under the aegis of The People\u2019s Movement on Wednesday bemoaned the propensity of some politicians in the state to perpetuate themselves in power, saying the political ambition of these politicians will end in mirage.<\/p>\n<p>A statement by the Director of Communications of the TPM, Mr. Victor Oki after a meeting on how the state could be re-engineered to greater heights in Patani said the leaders reviewed the political situation in the state and urged the people to reject aspirants that have contributed to the state\u2019s adversity.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said the leaders criticized what they described as attempts by some interests to deprive Delta North from occupying the exalted office in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Insisting that power should rotate among the three senatorial zones, the leaders said Delta North deserved to have a shot in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>They also said only individuals that are willing and prepared to deploy their endowments for greater good would be encouraged to fly the flag of the major political parties both in the local, state and federal levels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDelta State needs competent political leaders in 2015; leaders who understand the state\u2019s problems and who have both the will and moral courage to use power solely for the purpose of reducing the frustration and suffering of our people; leaders who are prepared to wield power in full compliance with the principles and demands of social justice and transparency\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the 2015 governorship election, the leaders insisted that the state needed a broad minded and well-connected person as Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan\u2019s successor, asserting that a member of the Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Program (SURE-P).Dr. Ngozi Olejeme is the best person for the job.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDelta State needs someone with vision, sophistication and exposure in the saddle to be able to make a difference. The state needs a person with foresight to attract foreign investment. She symbolizes the very best and will provide for the well-being of our people as well as deepen the mechanics of governance and service delivery in the state\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are charting a new path towards putting Delta State on the platform of reckoning\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>Female governor: Delta Youths raise hope<\/p>\n<p>The Delta Youth Coalition, (DYC), a group of youths in the state on Wednesday provided the necessary qualities expected of those wishing to contest the 2015 governorship election.<\/p>\n<p>Rising from an emergency delegates working committee meeting in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, DYC vowed to make Dr. Ngozi Olejeme the governor of the state in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking through its National Director of Information and Orientation, Mrs. Joyce Okubor, DYC described Dr. Olejeme as the best thing that can happen to the state in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr Olejeme is a thoroughbred administrator, a shining example of honesty, simplicity and humility. She appears to be the most credible person to be governor in 2015\u201d the organization said.<\/p>\n<p>Throwing further light on Olejeme\u2019s sterling qualities, the organization said \u201cEverybody in Delta State knows that Dr. Ngozi Olejeme is gentle, God fearing, very articulate and has the potential that commands the respect of all\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It urged political leaders in the state to look at the direction of Olejeme, stressing her wealth of political and public service exposure and experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr. Olejeme is a reliable choice. We are dialoguing with bigwigs in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). We are talking with opinion leaders, influencers in Delta State and prominent Deltans abroad.
