The Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a warning to the
\nEkiti State civil servants\u00a0 collaborating with the out going APC -led government
\nto loot the state’s treasury..<\/p>\n
According to a press statement issued by the party’s State Publicity
\nSecretary,Pastor Kola Oluwawole and made available to the press in Ado Ekiti today,
\nthe part warned that those civil servants found to have assisted Fayemi
\nadministration in the illegal employment and issuance of backdated letters of appointment\u00a0 will
\nface
\ndisciplinary action when the new government is inaugurated.<\/p>\n
Oluwawole also stated that civil servants discovered to have helped the
\noutgoing government to loot the treasury will face disciplinary action.<\/p>\n
Oluwawole revealed that Governor Fayemi directed a\u00a0\u00a0 meeting of top civil
\nservants held today to come up with a\u00a0 supplementay budget for the local government
\nelection he had scheduled for end of this month.<\/p>\n
The PDP spokesman stated that civil servants involved in the drawn up of
\nthe budget and release of money for the election\u00a0 will not go unpunished.<\/p>\n
He also\u00a0 alleged that the out-going governor approved different sums of money
\nwithin a day with the papers being perfected by his civil servant
\ncollaborators. Oluwawole stressed that Fayemi’s looting spree has amounted to about three
\nbillion Naira within the last two weeks , saying that most of these money are been
\nsyphoned by the governor and his collaborators with impunity.<\/p>\n
According to him a sum of N184,863,211.19, N406,293,791.08 and another
\nN604m was collected within a day for the purchase of furniture that would be used at
\nthe New Goverment House which is yet to be completed.<\/p>\n
It was equally alleged that the governor made an approval 1.9 Billion
\nNaira for then procurement of medical equipment for Oba Rufus Adejugbe General Hospital
\nAdo Ekiti all within one week.<\/p>\n
It was equally exposed in the statement that the government has perfected
\nplans to raise another five billion Naira loan before its exit in October, the
\ncontract of which the PDP said has been awarded to a consultant in Lagos who
\nfacilitated many other loans for the state government in the past.<\/p>\n
“We’ve gathered that the government is. planning to plunge Ekiti State
\ninto another round of bond chasing because of the intention of the outgoing Governor
\nand his men to milk Ekiti dry before leaving the government in October”<\/p>\n
“We wonder why the APC government is doing this now that the people of
\nEkiti has rejected them by voting out Governor Kayode Fayemi in the June 21 election.”<\/p>\n
“It is unfortunate that what Fayemi determined to do in his second time in
\noffice which the people of Ekiti state has denied him he want to capture in the
\nremaining three months that he will still be in office.”<\/p>\n
PDP however called on the Economic and Financial Crime Commission to be at
\nalert and intervene at the appropriate time so that Ekiti state treasury could be
