Acting Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Ambrose Mammadi, late Friday announced the constitution of a seven-man committee\u00a0 to investigate allegations of gross misconduct against the embattled governor of the state, Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Bala Ngilari,<\/p>\n
The state House of Assembly had recently served Nyako and Ngilari with impeachment notices, and asked the Chief Judge to institute such panel.<\/p>\n
A statement by the Chief Registrar of the state high court, Abubakar Bayola, said his boss had in line with the\u00a0 constitution constituted the committee as requested by the lawmakers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Hon. Acting Chief Judge Hon. Justice Ambrose D. Mammadi\u00a0\u00a0 by the powers vested in him under Section 185(5) of the 1999 constitution as (amended) has approved the appointment of seven (7) Man Panel to investigate allegations of Gross Misconduct of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State Admiral Murtala Nyako and the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State Mr. Bala Ngilari,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
The statement listed the panel chairman as\u00a0 Buba Kaimaga who hails from Mubi Northern Zone.
\nAlso on the committee are Laraba Hassan, (Michika Northern Zone); Njidda Kito, (Song Central Zone); Joshua Abu, (Hong Central Zone) and; Binanu Esthon, (Guyuk Southern Zone).<\/p>\n
The others are Sa\u2019ad Lawan, Mayo-Belwa, (Southern Zone); and Esthon Gapsiso, (Genye Southern Zone).<\/p>\n
The Chief Judge promised to swear in the committee at a later date.<\/p>\n
Nyako has had a running battle with the lawmakers who have consistently\u00a0 accused him of corruption and mismanagement of state money.<\/p>\n
