Governor Seriake Dickson is to embark on a 3-day official visit to the United Kingdom.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
While, in the United kingdom, he will attend the wrestling event of this year\u2019s commonwealth games in Glasgow, Scotland to support and the boost the moral and confidence of Nigeria\u2019s wrestling contingent, made up of nine Bayelsans as well as participate in the Commonwealth Business Council, where he is expected to make a special presentation, among otherprogrammes<\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n
Governor Dickson made the disclosure at an emergency state executive council meeting at Government House, Yenagoa.<\/span><\/div>\n
He explained that, the trip is also in fulfillment of his promise to the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, when a delegation of the federation led by its President, Hon. Daniel Igali visited him on the 8th<\/span><\/sup>of<\/span>\u00a0this month at the Bayelsa House in Abuja.<\/span><\/div>\n
According to him, the emergency executive council meeting was convened to reappraise the events of the just concluded state investment and economic forum as well as evolve means to make follow-ups to some of the decisions that were taken and conclude some of the deals that were initiated.<\/span><\/div>\n
While, congratulating the investment and economic team and all those, who contributed to the successful hosting of the forum, Governor Dickson directed the various commissioners and the heads of the different sectors to also embark on aggressive follow up and contacts on the deals that were signed.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2018\u2019The follow up will involve the various leaders of the various sectors; the ministries, department and agencies of the government. The commissioners are expected to lead the technical committees of the various aspects in terms of what we have, what we need to get done to get to where we are going.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2018\u2019For instance, the housing, health and other sectors, have to be in touch\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>with the\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>investment team. We are going to make some memoranda to guide your action and decision. The Deputy governor would meet with the sectorial heads to give\u00a0<\/span>them directives about what we are expected to do.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2018\u2019The several people who came that have expressed interest in\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>the various sectors, we have to prepare a sartorial\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>report with a follow up to key into the various decisions\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>that have been taken.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2018\u2019I should have the report in one or two weeks on the\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>business deals\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and contacts from the just concluded Bayelsa state investment and economic forum. The various perceptions about our State are changing, So, I call on you all to step up your game\u2019\u2019<\/span><\/div>\n
The Governor, who expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the forum, noted that, a lot\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>of the memoranda were signed, agreements and deals were also made\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and concluded, describing the developments as pointers to a prosperous and bright future for the State.<\/span><\/div>\n
Governor Dickson commended the security agencies in the state for the peace and tranquillity in the State during the forum and the period the State hosted the most beautiful girl in Nigeria pageants, who were in the State for about two weeks leading up to the grand finale.<\/span><\/div>\n
