{"id":29381,"date":"2014-07-21T13:19:42","date_gmt":"2014-07-21T12:19:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=29381"},"modified":"2014-07-24T13:20:03","modified_gmt":"2014-07-24T12:20:03","slug":"gov-dickson-declares-bayelsa-accounts-as-15th-transparency-briefing-holds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/gov-dickson-declares-bayelsa-accounts-as-15th-transparency-briefing-holds\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov Dickson Declares Bayelsa Accounts, As 15th Transparency Briefing Holds"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bayelsa State Government on Monday, declared N2 billion as the total amount available in its coffers after deduction of recurrent and capital expenditures spanning three months.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0Making this known during the monthly transparency initiative briefing\u00a0<span id=\"a5e8aadd-ce8f-4381-832d-3ac6bdc6bec7\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">for<\/span>\u00a0the months of April, May and June, 2014, the State governor through his Deputy, Retired Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah said, the declaration of the state\u2019s monthly income and expenditure was in line with the administration\u2019s policy of transparency and accountability.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his breakdown, Governor Dickson disclosed that, as at the end of April 2014, the state posted a balance of N14.87bn including balance brought forward from the month of March, 2014, which stood at N7.263bn.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the end of May, the state had a balance of N14.621bn including N8.938bn brought forward from the month April, 2014.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Reiterating his administration\u2019s commitment to probity and accountability, the Governor in his further breakdown disclosed that at the end of June the State posted N2bn after necessary deductions, which include bank loan re-payment and services, recurrent and capital expenditure.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Describing the economy of the state as stable, compared to other states in the country, the governor said, his administration is living up to its billings, which include provision of infrastructure, human capacity building and improving state\u2019s internally generated revenue.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Federation account allocation committee (FAAC) and funds from other sources, including Internally Generated Revenue, (IGR) for the month of April stood at N18, 472,594,241.30k.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Governor Dickson, who noted that salaries for civil servants over the three months amounted to over N11.66bn, said that of political appointees was N1.327bn, while payment of the N18<span id=\"5d468c39-67a6-4f0e-bfec-c52786bae8bb\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">,<\/span>000 minimum wage arrears for civil servants came up to N377.77 million.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to him, statutory allocation for the three months was over N12.45bn, but there was no\u00a0<span id=\"7e233a02-76e1-4d32-ba40-4a7969ae57be\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">fund<\/span>\u00a0from the excess crude account and augmentation during the period.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">On derivation from the federation account, he explained that N32.569 was received while\u00a0<span id=\"dcabfacf-b1a8-42c8-a594-c02ab2c6a673\" class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\">government<\/span>\u00a0got N1.851bn as proceeds from value added tax for the three months.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Daniel Iworiso-Markson<\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Bayelsa State<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bayelsa State Government on Monday, declared N2 billion as the total amount available in its coffers after deduction of recurrent and capital expenditures spanning three months. \u00a0Making this known during&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":28139,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-29381","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
