{"id":30138,"date":"2014-08-12T17:31:23","date_gmt":"2014-08-12T16:31:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=30138"},"modified":"2014-08-12T17:31:23","modified_gmt":"2014-08-12T16:31:23","slug":"jonathan-urges-greater-cooperation-among-west-african-countries-ebola-virus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/jonathan-urges-greater-cooperation-among-west-african-countries-ebola-virus\/","title":{"rendered":"Jonathan Urges Greater Cooperation Among West African Countries On Ebola Virus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has called for strategic collaboration<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">among West African countries to control and contain the Ebola Virus<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Disease in order to check its spread and further threat to human lives.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">President Jonathan stated this today while receiving in audience the new<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ambassador of Guinea to Nigeria, Mr. Gaoussou Toure who presented his<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">letters of credence to the President at the State House, Abuja.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">President Jonathan commended the containment measures so far taken by West<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">African countries that have been affected by the disease stressing that<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">more concerted intra-regional cooperation and action needs to be<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">developed.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cA problem that affects one of us affects all. We may need to come<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">together as a region to strengthen our containment measures. I am however<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">pleased that serious measures are being taken to control the spread of<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the disease,\u201d President Jonathan said.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ambassador Gaoussou Toure had earlier thanked President Jonathan for the<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">financial assistance given to Guinea by Nigeria for tackling the (Ebola)<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">disease and assured him that Guinea is deploying containment measures to<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">combat the outbreak.
