{"id":30283,"date":"2014-08-17T18:09:48","date_gmt":"2014-08-17T17:09:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=30283"},"modified":"2014-08-17T18:09:48","modified_gmt":"2014-08-17T17:09:48","slug":"three-arrested-foiled-gun-attack-silga-oil-gas-taskforce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/three-arrested-foiled-gun-attack-silga-oil-gas-taskforce\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Arrested in Foiled Gun Attack on Silga Oil and Gas Taskforce:"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Officials of Southern Ijaw Local Government Oil and Gas Taskforce (SILGA) have arrested three members of a gang of crude oil thieves, a statement by the council chairman Chief Remember Ogbe has said.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;During a routine patrol of the rivers and creeks by SILGA Taskforce that checks crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism, thirteen armed bandits on board a speedboat out-sped the taskforce, attacking its personnel.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;Undetered by several warning shots by the Nigerian Navy in Peremabiri, officials of Southern Ijaw Oil and Gas Taskforce (SILGA) followed up with\u00a0 more warning shots.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With few options left, SILGA taskforce with a shot on the thigh of the leader \u2013 Mr. Kingsley Otokolo.\u00a0<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;Maneuvering the boat to the shoreline, the armed bandits escaped into the forest. Afterwards, responsive community leaders reported Mr. Kingsley Otokolo and two members of his gang while seeking medical treatment for his injured thigh.
