{"id":30516,"date":"2014-08-24T21:48:51","date_gmt":"2014-08-24T20:48:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=30516"},"modified":"2014-08-24T21:48:51","modified_gmt":"2014-08-24T20:48:51","slug":"pdp-woos-ikimi-says-oshiomhole-failed-edo-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/pdp-woos-ikimi-says-oshiomhole-failed-edo-people\/","title":{"rendered":"PDP Woos Ikimi, Says Oshiomhole Has Failed Edo People"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1408913238363_1359\" class=\"message content\" style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1408913238363_1420\" class=\"base-card \">\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1408913238363_1464\" class=\"base-card-body\">\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1408913238363_1463\" class=\"msg-body inner  undoreset\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" tabindex=\"0\">Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State at the weekend pleaded with a former Minister of Foreign Affairs and All Progressive Congress (APC)\u00a0 chieftain, Chief Tom Ikimi to join its fold.<\/p>\n<p>The party also swiped at the Governor Adams Oshiomhole APC-led administration in Edo State, saying it has failed the people on several fronts, including the provision of basic infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The State PDP chairman Chief Dan Orbih, spoke at the weekend in Igueben, Igueben Local Government Area of the state, at a rally to\u00a0 welcome APC defectors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8221;The only person left in APC in Igueben would soon join the PDP&#8221;. Lions don,t walk about with goats. I Chief Dan Orbih, the Lion of Uziairue invites the Lion of Igueben, Chief Tom Ikimi to dump APC and join the PDP,&#8221; appealed Orbih amidst a thunderous applause.<\/p>\n<p>He accused the Oshiomhole government of making life difficult for many in the state through oppressive policies and levies.<\/p>\n<p>He said, &#8220;From the formal to the informal sector, the stories are all the same. Today, the indoor sports hall and pitch of the Samuel Ogbemudia is usually flooded anytime it rains. As for the swimming pool, it is more like a pond where, toads and lizards flourish.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All the major roads within the Benin metropolis are no longer passable while people continue to lose their houses to flooding. The levy paid by drivers was increased from N400 to N2000. You don&#8217;t need to be told the impact of that.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now, they can&#8217;t meet up with their daily returns and are finding live very difficult.&#8221;The governor announced the recall of sacked teachers and promised to pay their entitlements. It would, however, interest you to know that those teachers have not been recalled and neither their entitlements paid.
