Colonel Adeboye Obasanjo, son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo,is believed to have been \u00a0shot on Monday \u00a0 during a battle between the militant Islamic sect, Boko Haram and troops near Michika in Adamawa State.<\/p>\n

A family friend of Obasanjo, Mallam Mohammed Kebbi, told\u00a0BBC Hausa Service<\/em>\u00a0that \u201cCol. Adeboye, son of Obasanjo, was shot by the insurgents in Bazza on their (platoon) way to Michika.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kebbi said Adeboye was injured in the leg by the insurgents during the encounter<\/p>\n

He is an army engineer at the 3rd Division in Jos, Plateau State.<\/p>\n

The source said \u00a0President\u2019s son was being treated at a military facility which identity was not revealed for security reasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was shot by Boko Haram in the battle to reclaim Michika from the insurgents. But there is no cause for alarm as he is responding to treatment,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Adeboye married Daisy Nyada in February 2008 at the Hilltop mansion residence of his father in Abeokuta, Ogun State.<\/p>\n

During the Nigerian Civil War, Adeboye\u2019s father commanded the Army\u2019s 3 Marine Commando Division that took Owerri, effectively bringing an end to the civil war.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
