This is a scientific first from Philadelphia which could be the way to curing HIV. It is a breakthrough, so instead of supressing and treating the HIV&AIDS which is what currently happens, researchers at Temple have now for the first time shown they\u2019ve found a way to destroy the virus. The researchers at Temple Center for Virology have found a way to operate on DNA and destroy the AIDS virus.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is an important finding because for the first time in lab setting we show that the virus can be eradicated from human culture\u201d \u2013 Dr Kamel Khalili<\/p>\n
\u201cBasically converting the infected cells to uninfected cells and that is very important because the current therapy cannot eliminate the virus from the cells\u201d \u2013 Dr Kamel Khalili<\/p>\n

~ Dr Khalili led the research team that developed molecular tools that can hunt down and delete HIV in cells.<\/p>\n

The next step in this huge discovery is to find a way to move the discovery from the lab and the animals then people, the ground work being set for curing HIV.
