Friday Nwosu says the recent adoption of<\/p>\n<p>President Goodluck Jonathan as the party sole candidate in the 2015<\/p>\n<p>presidential election is well deserved.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with journalists at his Jehovah Is Great House in Mgboko<\/p>\n<p>Umuoria town, Obingwa council area on Sunday, Nwosu who congratulated the<\/p>\n<p>national leadership of the PDP for the adoption, further commended the<\/p>\n<p>President for dedicating himself to the service of the nation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He added that despite the challenges facing the nation, Jonathan<\/p>\n<p>achievements in office has seen him improve the lot of Nigerians, stressing<\/p>\n<p>that his second term would witness greater delivery of democracy dividends<\/p>\n<p>to the citizenry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Jonathan is God sent because being a President of<\/p>\n<p>Nigeria at such a critical time in its history is divine. He has refused to<\/p>\n<p>be provoked or distracted in the performance of his duties. I have no doubt<\/p>\n<p>Nigeria would have been in deep crisis, but for a humble and listening<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan on seat as President.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you assess his performance, you will discover that many sectors of the<\/p>\n<p>Nigerian economy have started to take shape. Look at the Aviation,<\/p>\n<p>education, Power, Agriculture and in transportation, the railway lines are<\/p>\n<p>being brought back to life. Our airports are being remodeled. He has<\/p>\n<p>improved them from what he met on ground. Remember that he has been<\/p>\n<p>battling with the rot left by previous administrations. Nigeria has made<\/p>\n<p>visible progress under him. Taking a look at where he came from, you will<\/p>\n<p>be impressed with the achievements recorded within the period. He has shown<\/p>\n<p>the zeal and commitment to change a lot of things in the best interest of<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Above all, Jonathan has displayed democratic credentials and<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>respect for rule of law more than his predecessors.\u00a0 I think these are the<\/p>\n<p>issues the national leadership of PDP considered and wants him to<\/p>\n<p>consolidate on his achievements in the interest of the country.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On whether the adoption of the President by the party is not against<\/p>\n<p>democratic principles, Nwosu who maintained that the decision does not<\/p>\n<p>foreclose any presidential aspirant from going ahead with his ambition,<\/p>\n<p>added that it is capable of advancing good governance and constitutional<\/p>\n<p>democracy in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What is wrong or undemocratic in asking a performing President to<\/p>\n<p>continue? There is nothing undemocratic in the adoption of a sitting<\/p>\n<p>President as a consensus candidate. It is an acceptable practice all over<\/p>\n<p>the world as far as the President is interested to contest for a second<\/p>\n<p>term. Even advanced democracies like USA and Britain have one time or the<\/p>\n<p>other granted automatic tickets to their sitting presidents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The governorship aspirant who has been receiving several endorsements by<\/p>\n<p>political stakeholders across the 17 council areas of Abia state called on<\/p>\n<p>Nigeria living at home and in Diaspora to support the adoption of Jonathan<\/p>\n<p>for a second term by voting massively for him at the election to complete<\/p>\n<p>his transformation agenda for the nation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While commending Nigerians for their support for the Jonathan<\/p>\n<p>administration, Nwosu urged them to shun some of the opposition politicians<\/p>\n<p>who he said, do not mean well for Nigeria.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leading governorship aspirant of the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State, Barr.
