{"id":31637,"date":"2014-09-30T20:46:17","date_gmt":"2014-09-30T19:46:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=31637"},"modified":"2014-09-30T20:46:17","modified_gmt":"2014-09-30T19:46:17","slug":"presidency-want-run-buhari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/presidency-want-run-buhari\/","title":{"rendered":"Presidency : Why i want to run again&#8212;-Buhari"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1412105361410_3575\" class=\"message content\" style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1412105361410_3674\" class=\"base-card \" tabindex=\"0\">\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1412105361410_3735\" class=\"base-card-body\">\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1412105361410_3675\" class=\"msg-body inner  undoreset\" tabindex=\"0\">\n<div id=\"yiv7924221504\">\n<div id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1412105361410_3734\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1412105361410_3733\" style=\"color: #444444;\">A former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday reiterated why \u00a0he would throw his hat in the ring again, and contest the 2015 presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">He said he decided to run because the Peoples Democratic Party-led federal administrations from 1999 till date were purposeless and that there appears not to be a government in place in Nigeria at present.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1412105361410_3761\" style=\"color: #606263;\">He however said \u00a0that if he did not nick the party\u2019s presidential ticket, his supporters should not shy away from backing whoever wins it.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1412105361410_3745\" style=\"color: #606263;\">\u201cI intend to offer myself for the position of the president of the republic on the platform of our great party; I intend to make a formal announcement soon\u201d, Buhari said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1412105361410_3744\" style=\"color: #606263;\">\u201cI hope I can count on your continuing support and sacrifice. However, I would like to point out to you that, to be more meaningful, your support must extend beyond my person and always be available to the party and all those that the party puts forward; because it is the party that is the platform\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Mr. Buhari, who disclosed this in Abuja while addressing about 60 different groups urging him to run for the presidency said he would make his declaration formal on October 8.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">According to him, \u201cToday, we are in the 15th year of purposeless leadership by the PDP and all we have seen is unprecedented deterioration in the security and law and order situation, astronomical rise in the incidence and intensity of corruption, and in the failure of governance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">\u201cAnd as we reach this last lap of the journey, I would like to request that we concentrate all our effort and energy toward realising and achieving change in how this country is run.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">\u201cThe only way to meaningful change in this country is to vote the PDP out of power to which it was never legitimately elected, anyway. The task before us today is wide ranging and very great.
