{"id":32083,"date":"2014-10-13T16:41:03","date_gmt":"2014-10-13T15:41:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=32083"},"modified":"2014-10-13T17:14:04","modified_gmt":"2014-10-13T16:14:04","slug":"uk-banned-entry-bishop-oyedepo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/uk-banned-entry-bishop-oyedepo\/","title":{"rendered":"Why the UK banned me from entry&#8230;Bishop Oyedepo"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The founder and general overseer of the Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel , Bishop David Oyedepo, has confirmed that he has been banned from the United Kingdom.He revealed this in an interview with news agency, Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>His words:<\/p>\n<p>He opened up on how his church\u2019s income is used and why he doesn\u2019t agree that church\u2019s should pay tax.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe use the income of the church to build schools, we use the income of the church to serve the needs of the poor.\u201d\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the $150 million Forbes\u2019 estimate of his fortune, he said: \u201cFor me, to have fortune means someone who has what he needs at any point in time. I don\u2019t see myself as having $150 million stacked up somewhere. Whatever way they found their figures, I am only able to say I am blessed by the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that he could not estimate the church\u2019s total revenues or expenditure on items such as salaries because the various departments, including education, were too diverse. Winners Chapel\u2019s Corporate Affairs department told Reuters that the church has employed more than 18,000 people in Nigeria alone.<\/p>\n<p>On the ongoing investigation by Britain\u2019s Charity Commission which says it is reviewing potential conflicts of interest in his finances which resulted in him being barred from entering the UK \u2013 Oyedepo told Reuters he knew nothing of the commission\u2019s review, nor had the Home Office explained to him why he was barred.<\/p>\n<p>On taxation of churches, Oyedepo said: \u201cThere is no single government input on this premises. We supply our water, we make our roads, then you \u2026 say: \u2018Let\u2019s tax them\u2019.
