The Nigerian will send money in Naira, the person<br \/>\nreceiving in UK or USA; will receive it in pounds or dollars.\u00a0 The<br \/>\noutbound money transfer service allows Nigerians to send money in Naira<br \/>\nto over 200 countries around the world by simply working into any UBA<br \/>\nbranch in Nigeria or in the 18 other African countries where UBA has<br \/>\noperations outside Nigeria or through any other MoneyGram Agent Bank.<\/p>\n<p>The launch event which held at UBA\u2019s head office in Marina, Lagos, was<br \/>\nhosted by UBA\u2019s GMD\/CEO, Phillips Oduoza, who had a live demonstration of<br \/>\nhow the service will work by sending money from Nigeria to Ghana. He sent<br \/>\nNaira, which was received in real time in Ghana Cedis by the CEO of UBA<br \/>\nGhana. The transaction was witnessed by the media and other assembled<br \/>\nguests both in Ghana and Nigeria via video link.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the event, UBA\u2019s GMD said the new UBA and MoneyGram<br \/>\noutbound money transfer service will boost trade and business between<br \/>\nAfrican countries as many Nigerians who do business across Africa, no<br \/>\nlonger have to move around with cash as they can easily transfer money to<br \/>\ntheir business partners in other African countries or in China, Europe<br \/>\nand America to pay for goods and services bought.<\/p>\n<p>He described the new money transfer service which has been tagged<br \/>\n\u2018Naija Sends\u2019 as yet another testimony to the innovative,<br \/>\ncustomer-centric disposition of both UBA and MoneyGram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis service opens a new vista of opportunity for Nigerians to easily<br \/>\ntrade with other Africans and also trade with other parts of the world.<br \/>\nIt also offers a great platform to send money to loved ones abroad. As<br \/>\nAfrica\u2019s global bank, we are proud to partner with MoneyGram to make this<br \/>\nservice available. It opens a whole new world of opportunities for our<br \/>\ncustomers\u201d Oduoza said.<\/p>\n<p>On her part, Regional Manager, Anglophone West Africa, MoneyGram, Mrs.<br \/>\nKemi Okusanya, said the launch of \u2018Naija Sends\u2019 has further deepened the<br \/>\nbrand\u2019s reach and service in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the last two decades MoneyGram has facilitated over 15 million<br \/>\ntransactions in Nigeria, enabling safe, convenient and reliable transfer<br \/>\nof funds from the Nigeria Diaspora to their loved ones. As Africa\u2019s<br \/>\nlargest economy, with over 10 million migrants, we are glad we are now<br \/>\nable to also offer Nigerians the opportunity to send money abroad to<br \/>\ntheir loved ones and for business transactions\u201d Mrs. Okusanya said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoneyGram with over 300,000 locations in over 200 countries, partnering<br \/>\nwith UBA with over 700 business offices in 19 African countries and<br \/>\noffices in New York, London and Paris, offers the best choice for<br \/>\nNigerian\u2019s sending money abroad to loved ones&#8221; she stated.<\/p>\n<p>MoneyGram started operation in Nigeria 16 years ago with UBA as its first<br \/>\nAgent Bank partner.
