Ondo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has rejected the reported dissolution of its State Executive Committee(SEC)by the National Working Committee, (NEC) of the party.<\/p>\n
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh had earlier announced the dissolution of all organs of the party in the state, ostensibly to accommodate Governor Olusegun Mimiko who recently dumped Labour Party for PDP.<\/p>\n
Metuh announced the appointment of a caretaker committee headed by Hon. Dare Adeleke and Hon. Dare Solomon Osawu as secretary.<\/p>\n
However, the State Publicity Secretary, Ayo Fadaka on Sunday described the purported dissolution as a nullity as, according to him, there was a subsisting court order barring the NWC from carrying out such action.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe received with shock the news of the dissolution of the Executives of the Party at every level in the State by NWC.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo say the least, this action is a clear intention by those we expect to safeguard the interest of the Party to outrightly behead it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also consider this action a disappointment,particularly in view of the fact that there is a subsisting Court order barring the NWC from taking this sort of action.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe therefore reject it and affirm our absolute confidence and support for the Executives from the Ward to the State level.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to remind Abuja that it is by choice that we are members of the Party and that the Party is not a prison yard where we are inmates that are bereft of liberties and fundamental rights.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also declare our defiance of this action and as such will continue to recognize and relate only with our Executives at every level\u201d, said the state executive.<\/p>\n
The statement urged its members in Ondo State not to despair, stressing, \u201cwe will jointly and collectively determine, shape and reorder our political destiny\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
