The leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed<\/p>\n
Tinubu, has been reportedly flown out of the country for medical treatment
\nfollowing deterioration of his health condition.<\/p>\n
According to a report on Daily Trust yesterday, Tinubu was flown to London
\nin his private jet on Friday, 24 October, as his ailing health
\ndeteriorated.<\/p>\n
The APC chieftain is said to be suffering from an ailment which affects
\nhis posture and balance as well his movement, speech and writing.<\/p>\n
A close aide said: \u201cHe has been manifesting symptoms of Parkinson disease
\nwhich include tremor, shaky limbs, hands and fingers, slow movement,
\nimpaired posture and balance and loss of automatic movements\u201d.<\/p>\n
The aide added that he was also suffering from another undisclosed disease
\nwhich is being managed at a specialist hospital in Houston, USA.<\/p>\n
The source, who said Tinubu has been managing the ailment for almost a
\ndecade, explained that his withdrawal from vying as the deputy of retired
\nGeneral Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming 2015 elections was as a result
\nof his failing health.<\/p>\n
According to the aide, he was accompanied by his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu
\nand the former national chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande.<\/p>\n
When contacted, APC bigwigs in the state and at the national level
\ndeclined commenting on their leader\u2019s health status.<\/p>\n
