{"id":32942,"date":"2014-11-07T20:42:06","date_gmt":"2014-11-07T19:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=32942"},"modified":"2014-11-07T23:06:16","modified_gmt":"2014-11-07T22:06:16","slug":"journalist-accuses-oil-boss-aliyu-abubakar-threat-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/journalist-accuses-oil-boss-aliyu-abubakar-threat-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Journalist Accuses A.A Oil Boss, Aliyu Abubakar of Threat To Life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Publisher of National Waves Magazine, Mr. Jimmy Enyeh has raised an<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">alarm over the incessant threats to his life and that of his family from<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">agents of the Chairman\/CEO of A.A Oil Ltd, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar, over an<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">article titled \u201cA.A Oil boss in N650million Scam,\u201d published in the<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">September 2014 edition of the magazine.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Enyeh said that since the magazine hit the newsstands, he has received<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">numerous calls from anonymous callers threatening to kill him and members<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">of his family over the publication.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cThese anonymous callers called me severally, intimidated, bullied and<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">threatened me over the said publication. I was told to watch my back as<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">they are after me and my family members\u201d, he said.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Enyeh stressed that he took the threats with a pinch of salt until<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">recently when some unidentified young men in a black colored Toyota SUV<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">started trailing him.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cJust recently, whil driving home, I noticed a black Toyota SUV trailing<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">me from my office. It was night and so I could not see the plate number. I<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">decided to make a detour to somewhere else, parked, walked out of my car<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">and entered a store. I watched them from the store for almost thirty<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">minutes before they left.\u201d<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Enyeh recalled that before the said story was published, he wrote a letter<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">dated 01\/09\/2014 to Alhaji Abubakar requesting to confirm the allegations<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">of collecting the sum of N650million for unexecuted contracts in 2002 but<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">up till the time of going to press on September 22, 2014, he did not<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">respond to the letter.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On 29th September 2014, the AA Oil boss wrote a letter to National WAVES<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">through his lawyer demanding for proof of the published story.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">National Waves told Aliyu in a reply that AA Oil allegedly collected part<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">of the money from the office of the Head of Service.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Enyeh argued that while it the most uncivilized to threaten journalists<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">for their work, Alhaji Aliyu should rather go to court to if he feels<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">aggrieved and maligned by the story.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, an oil magnate whose investments span various<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">economic sectors around the world and properties litter major cities of<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the globe was recently linked to the Malabu oil scandal.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">According to Reuters, more than half of the N171.32 billion ($1.1 billion)<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">paid to Malabu Oil and Gas for the procurement of one of Nigeria\u2019s richest<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">oil fields, OPL 245 by Shell and Eni was used to bribe Nigerian<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">politicians and intermediaries who helped to secure the controversial<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">deal. Aliyu was linked to the deal.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Aliyu had once been linked with shady deals with former Governor Diepreye<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Alamieyesiegha. He allegedly transferred several Billions of Naira into<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">offshores accounts belonging to him and the former Governor, according to<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">sources.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For instance a source said for some of the transactions he reportedly<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">handled on behalf of Mr. Alamieyesiegha concerning the payment of<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a3475,724.08 from his HSBC account in London, he was rewarded with a top<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">notch contract to build Governor\u2019s lodge and the Deputy Governor\u2019s Lodge<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">in Abuja for an over invoiced unbelievable N4.8 Billion ($40 Million).<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Again in 2002, pointblanknews.com learnt that Aliyu assisted<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Alamieyesiegha to illegally ship out of Nigeria monies stolen from public<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">coffers amounting to \u00a3420, 000. Destination was London.
