{"id":33680,"date":"2014-11-29T20:15:01","date_gmt":"2014-11-29T19:15:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=33680"},"modified":"2014-11-29T20:15:01","modified_gmt":"2014-11-29T19:15:01","slug":"harass-boo-president-jonathan-say-oau-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/harass-boo-president-jonathan-say-oau-students\/","title":{"rendered":"We did not harass, boo President Jonathan say OAU students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The President, Students Union Government of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Mr. Isaac Ibikunle, has described as falsehood the report in some quarters that students of the university hurled stones and other missiles at President Goodluck Jonathan during his visit to the campus on Friday.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The SUG president spoke in an interview with our correspondent in Osogbo on Saturday.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He said that students of the university insisted on discussing with Jonathan on the increment of the fees charged by the school and the President obliged.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0He said, \u201cWe read some reports that the President was stoned, booed and harassed when he came to our campus. This is not correct.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cSecurity personnel initially prevented us from seeing the president but we insisted that we wanted to discuss with him and we were allowed to see him. \u201cWe told him that the increment was too high, and gave him a petition concerning the exorbitant fees and he assured us that he would act on it fast. \u201cI asked Mr. President to come down from the car and address us and he came down.
