{"id":33684,"date":"2014-11-29T20:18:38","date_gmt":"2014-11-29T19:18:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=33684"},"modified":"2014-11-29T20:18:38","modified_gmt":"2014-11-29T19:18:38","slug":"fraud-top-prison-boss-bags-seven-years-jail-term","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/fraud-top-prison-boss-bags-seven-years-jail-term\/","title":{"rendered":"Fraud: Top Prison Boss Bags Seven Years Jail Term"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\nThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday secured the conviction of a top prison officer as Justice J.J Majebi of the Kogi State High Court, Okene, convicted and sentenced Joseph Friday Idachaba, Deputy Controller of Prisons, to seven years imprisonment for offences bordering on obtaining money by false pretence.<\/p>\n<p>The convict is to pay the sum of N1, 403,114.09 (One Million, Four Hundred and Three Thousand, One Hundred and Fourteen Naira, Nine Kobo) in restitution to Nigeria Prison Service.<\/p>\n<p>Arraigned in 2012 on a three-count charge, the convict was found guilty on count three of the charge by the trial judge, who, however, acquitted him on two remaining counts<br \/>\nCount three of the charge reads: &#8220;That you Joseph Friday Idachaba (m) being a deputy comtroller of Nigeria Prison Service, and Onoja D.
