The All Progressives Congress (APC) has challenged the DSS to immediately<\/p>\n
tell Nigerians the outcome of its investigations into the cooked-up
\nallegation of PVC cloning that forced the security agency to unlawfully
\ninvade the party\u2019s offices in Lagos over a week ago.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by its National Publicity
\nSecretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said if no evidence of PVC
\ncloning was found, the DSS should apologize to Nigerians for acting on the
\nbasis of faulty intelligence.<\/p>\n
It said any further delay in telling Nigerians the outcome of the
\ninvestigations, after almost 10 days, could mean that the DSS is trying to
\nmanufacture evidence to support its faulty intelligence.<\/p>\n
\u201dWithout carrying out any investigation and with no shred of evidence, the
\nDSS gleefully announced to the world that they stormed our data centre
\nbecause they got information that Permanent Voters Cards were being cloned
\nthere.<\/p>\n
\u201dOn the basis of this uncorroborated announcement, the PDP categorically
\naccused the APC of cloning PVCs. It is now over a week since the DSS
\ncarted away materials and computer servers after ransacking our offices
\nfor over two hours. The agency\u2019s experts must have analyzed the
\ninformation in the materials and on the servers.<\/p>\n
\u201dTherefore, we are now asking them to immediately announce their findings
\nto the world. After all, it took them only a few hours after their
\nGestapo-like invasion of our offices before they issued their baseless
\nallegation of PVC cloning to justify their action,\u201d APC said.<\/p>\n
The party said while it has gone to court to seek redress, the DSS still
\nowes Nigerians an explanation and, if indeed no evidence of card cloning
\nwas found, an unreserved apology to them (Nigerians).<\/p>\n
It advised the DSS to always endeavour to act professionally and fairly in
\ncarrying out its duties, rather than taking beer parlour gossips as useful
\nintelligence, adding: \u201dIt is this type of faulty intelligence that has
\nbeen stifling the efforts to desconstruct Boko Haram and faclitate the
\nbattle to end the insurgency that is daily killing and maiming innocent
\nNigerians.<\/p>\n
