Program (UNEP) and the Italian Universit\u00e1 degli Studii Padova are among
\nnew cooperation partners to usher in fresh courses at iversity.org this
\nJanuary. The curriculum targets practical business and job-related skills
\nas well as competencies that can be applied to critical global issues such
\nas human rights and climate change.<\/p>\n
Addressing global issues requires the active participation of both
\ninternational political stakeholders and local communities. In line with
\nthe United Nations Climate Conference in Lima that started this week,

\nApplied Sciences produced this MOOC as a large-scale effort to educate
\ncourse participants about disaster prevention and risk management in the
\nage of climate change. Italian Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Padova addresses
\nanother key global issue with the course Human Rights: Global & Local
\nProtection. Students will be given insights into the international and
\nacademic debate on human rights as well as learn actionable measures that
\ncan protect them.<\/p>\n
Other new partnerships bring courses that cater to professional
\ndevelopment. Online learners have access to skills for shaping business
\nopportunities, developing innovative ideas and gamifying complex
\nprocesses.
\nProcurro Solutions joins the platform to teach fundamental methods for
\nmaking well-informed business decisions with the course Business Analysis
\n101.
\nKarlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) targets another side of the
\nbusiness field with Idea Generation Methods for realising new ideas and
\npropelling innovation.
\nThe EU funded project SEGAN offers Serious Game Design and Development,
\ngoing beyond entertainment and applying game strategies to complex,
\nreal-world problems.
\nHomuork offers Public Speaking, one of the most basic skill every
\nprofessional needs. Students who earn a certificate will be invited to
\ntake these skills offline and participate in the exclusive Pitch Contest
\nin Barcelona, Spain.
\nMore discipline-specific opportunities are also found in the expanding
\ncourse catalogue.
\nThe Italian Accademia di Belle Arti (Abadir) will offer the first part of
\na 3-part series, Architecture 101, as an introduction to space and
\narchitecture through 101 exercises. This course will also offer students
\nthe possibility to earn university ECTS credits.
\nHistorians, archaeologists and curious minds also have an exclusive
\nopportunity to participate in Stonehenge, a course that allows students to
\nexplore one of the most mysterious sites from the history of human
\ncivilisation.
