Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State
\nand Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emeka
\nIhedioha has expressed his appreciation to delegates in the primary held
\nlast Monday December 8th, 2014.
\nIn a thank you message personally signed by him, Hon. Ihedioha rallied
\npraised delegates for their perseverance, orderly and peaceful conduct
\nthat led to a successful primary that has been adjudged by all as free,
\nfair and transparent.
\nHe enjoined those who contested for the governorship ticket with him to
\nput the interest of the party and work together to achieve victory for the
\nPDP in the coming general elections, promising to \u201crun a vibrant, open,
\ninclusive and issue based Campaign. A Campaign that will have the input of
\nall our Stakeholders. A Campaign that will accommodate all interests and
\ntendencies within the PDP family.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement reads: \u201cI wish to convey my sincere appreciation and thanks
\nto the great and indefatigable delegates that participated in the PDP
\nGovernorship Election Primaries which was held on 8 December 2014 at
\nOwerri. In particular I doff my hat to the 346 delegates who cast their
\nvotes for me.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is as a result of your trust and confidence in me that I was elected
\nas the PDP Governorship flag bearer in the 2015 General Election. Most
\nworthy delegates, I was present with you throughout the long hours of
\naccreditation, voting, counting, and Declaration of the Results. It was
\nthe most painstaking, thorough, transparent and credible primary election
\never conducted in the history of primary elections of any political party
\nin Imo State.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou, the delegates, endured the long hours, the pushing and shoving, the
\nheat of the Sun, lack of water and food inside the stadium. You defied
\nintimidation and strong arm tactics employed by some aspirants, to cast
\nyour votes. For all these I will remain always indebted and committed to
\nyou.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow that I have been elected, I have become the Candidate of all
\ndelegates. I have become the Candidate of all PDP Members. I have become
\nthe Candidate of all the Aspirants. In a political contest of this nature
\nonly one person will be returned as winner. But we are all winners, as I
\nintend to run a vibrant, open, inclusive and issue based Campaign. A
\nCampaign that will have the input of all our Stakeholders. A Campaign that
\nwill accommodate all interests and tendencies within the PDP family.<\/p>\n
\u201cAccordingly , I appeal to all my brothers and sister who contested with
\nme, all the delegates, PDP members and all indigenes of Imo in all walks
\nof life to rally behind me and all other PDP Candidates for various
\npositions, towards ensuring that the party records wide-ranging and
\nresounding victory in Imo State in 2015 General Elections
\n\u201cIt is time for all of us to unite and forge ahead together as a people
\nwith a common destiny. It is only as one big family that we can achieve
\nthe desire of the long suffering people of Imo State for emancipation from
\nthe poverty and the enthronement of a truly modern Peoples\u2019 Government.\u201d<\/p>\n
