Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu has dismissed reports of an impeachment plot against him as unfounded.<\/p>\n
Uwajumogu said the rumours making the rounds are only the imagination of some political interests and called on the public to disregard them, stressing that the House is intact.<\/p>\n
In chat with newsmen in Owerri , the Speaker said there has never been any plot to remove him or other principal officers of the House.<\/p>\n
Recall that an Owerri based tabloid recently carried a news story suggesting that plans have been perfected to remove the Speaker. The report mentioned the member representing Okigwe State Constituency, Hon. Iheanacho Ihim as the arrow head of the plot.<\/p>\n
But in a swift reaction, an aide to Hon. Ihim described the story as a calculation attempt by his detractors to smear his image and relationship with the Speaker.<\/p>\n
