{"id":34591,"date":"2015-01-03T04:40:50","date_gmt":"2015-01-03T03:40:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=34591"},"modified":"2015-01-03T04:40:50","modified_gmt":"2015-01-03T03:40:50","slug":"buharis-original-copies-certificates-army","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/buharis-original-copies-certificates-army\/","title":{"rendered":"We Are not With Buhari\u2019s Original Copies of Certificates \u2014 Army"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mailview-right\" class=\"offset uibox\">\n<div id=\"messagecontent\">\n<div class=\"leftcol\">\n<div id=\"messagebody\">\n<div class=\"message-htmlpart\">\n<div class=\"rcmBody\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Few days after the former Head of State and Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, retd, explained in an affidavit submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that all his academic credentials were with the Military Board, the Army have stated that they do not keep the certificates of any serving or retired officer or soldier.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">General Buhari is contesting the presidential election for the fourth time under different political parties including the defunct All Nigeria People\u2019s Party, ANPP and the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, but the issue of his qualifications had never been controversial until the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, recently described him as a \u2018\u2019semi- illiterate.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">However, against the backdrop of Buhari\u2019s affidavit in court, a military source said \u2018\u2019that the Army can not keep anybody\u2019s original certificate because it is the personal property of the owner,\u2019\u2019 adding that such original certificates were only needed at the point of entry into the service.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to the source, the Military only kept photocopies of credentials of officers and soldiers in their personal files that were in the military secretary\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe original certificate of any officer or soldier is only needed at the point of entry into the service either as a cadet officer entering the Nigerian Defence Academy, or the recruitment officers when interviewing recruits to be sent to the depot for training.
