The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation has
\ndismissed as mischievous and unfounded the allegation by the All
\nProgressives Congress (APC) that the Department of State Services (DSS) is
\nin cahoots with the PDP and planning to postpone the February 14, 2015
\nPresidential Election.<\/p>\n
Director of Media and Publicity of the Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi
\nFani-Kayode, said that the election would hold and predicted an emphatic
\nvictory for President Goodluck Jonathan in the election.<\/p>\n
Fani-Kayode described the APC charge as an attempt to discredit the
\nelectoral process and wreak havoc when the opposition party loses as it
\nsurely will.
\nHe said in a statement in Abuja that, \u201cit is interesting that the APC
\nnever came out with these lies about plans to postpone the election until
\nits cloning and hacking activities were uncovered by the DSS.<\/p>\n
\u201cRather than address the evidences presented by the DSS such as a video of
\n21 hacking tutorials, multiple registrations of individuals and underage
\npersons including babies and foreigners, possession of temporary and
\npermanent voter cards, the APC is raising postponement as a red herring,
\nhoping to distract Nigerians from its nefarious activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur Campaign Organisation categorically states that our candidate,
\nPresident Goodluck Jonathan, and the PDP-led Federal Government have no
\nintention, whatsoever, to interfere in the workings of the INEC and
\ntherefore dissociates them from the plan, alleged by the APC, to postpone
\nthe February 14, 2015 Presidential Election.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndeed, we are eagerly looking forward to that day so that the ghost of
\nthe violence-prone APC with its criminal cloning and hacking attempts will
\nbe laid to rest in a crushing electoral defeat.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe Nigerians are now familiar with the diversionary tactics of
\nthe APC. Before the Ekiti and Osun state gubernatorial elections, the same
\nAPC made all manner of allegations against the PDP, the Independent
\nNational Electoral Commission (INEC) and all the security agencies.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the elections held, Nigerians saw firsthand that none of the
\nallegations made by the APC was true. So shall it be with this new claim
\nof a purported postponement made by the APC.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis unfounded and mischievous charge of election postponement is part of
\nthe APC\u2019s nefarious and well-documented attempt to heat up the polity, lay
\nthe groundwork to create disharmony among Nigerians, discredit the
\nforthcoming elections and wreck havoc once it loses the February 14, 2015
\nPresidential Election.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe remind Nigerians that it was the Presidential Candidate of the APC,
\nMajor General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), who once told the world during a
\nBBC Hausa interview that, \u2018If what happened in 2011 should again happen in
\n2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in
\nblood.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cEven though the elections have not yet held, Buhari\u2019s words of incitement
\nhave already borne disastrous fruit as evidenced by the recent violence in
\nJos, Plateau State, which was clearly spearheaded by his supporters.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe condemn the violence and mischievous antics of the APC in its entirety
\nand call on Nigerians to reject the party of Janjaweed ideology at the
\npolls.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe reiterate that the PDP remains committed to implementing its
\nmanifestoes, touching the lives of Nigerians, transforming our nation and
\nbequeathing a legacy of development to future generation.\u201d<\/p>\n
