Mr Gboyega Oyetola, the Chief of Staff to Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, on<\/p>\n
Friday disclosed that the budget for the Governor\u2019s Office for 2015 is
\nN18,645,514,610.<\/p>\n
Oyetola disclosed this in Osogbo, while defending the budget of the
\nGovernor\u2019s Office before the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation.<\/p>\n
According to him, \u2018\u2019N6,925,000,000 is for recurrent expenditure and its
\ncapital expenditure is proposed at the sum of N11,720,514,610.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019The budget size for the year represents a 36.13 per cent reduction in
\nthe size of the budget for year 2014,\u2019\u2019 Oyetola explained.<\/p>\n
He said the Office of the Governor proposed to raise N3,025,000,000 as
\nrevenue through tender fees, registration of contractors, capital receipts
\nand from other sources.<\/p>\n
According to Oyetola, N1,159,000,000 is expected to be expended on
\nsalaries, allowances and other remuneration of career officers and
\npolitical office holders in the Office of the Governor.<\/p>\n
The sum of N3,775,000,000 is expected to be spent on general
\nadministration of bureaus and agencies in the Office of the Governor, as
\npart of overhead costs.<\/p>\n
The payment of salaries to the Governor, the Deputy Governor, Judges, the
\nState Independent Electoral Commission and others would gulp N2billion.<\/p>\n
Reports showed that N11,720,514,610 was proposed to cater for the
\nexecution and implementation of projects and programmes of agencies and
\nbureaus in the Office of the Governor.<\/p>\n
The chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Mr Kamil
\nOyedele, promised that the house would give the budget a critical and
\naccelerated consideration and passage.<\/p>\n
Oyedele also appreciated the House for their patience during the
\npresentation and defence of the budget by the Ministries, Departments and
\nAgencies (MDAs).
\nReports also had it that the House of Assembly ended the week-long
\npresentation and hearing of budgets by the MDAs in the state on Friday.<\/p>\n
