Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has insisted that Nigeria and its<\/p>\n
people cannot afford another “Yar’Adua experience” less than five years
\nafter the country had to resort to the Doctrine of Necessity to wriggle
\nout of the leadership crisis caused by the illness and eventual death of
\nthe then President, Umaru Musa Yar\u2019Adua.<\/p>\n
The governor said in a statement issued on Saturday, by his Special
\nAssistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka that the
\nAll Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Major General
\nMohammadu Buhari (rtd) was already senile, adding that; “Senility made
\nBuhari not to remember the name of his Running Mate, choosing to call his
\nrunning mate Osunbade instead of Osinbajo and also referring to Imo State
\nas Ibo State.”<\/p>\n
Fayose said former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu knew that
\nMajor General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) was old and unhealthy before imposing
\nhim as the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) presidential candidate.<\/p>\n
He said Tinubu\u2019s evil agenda was to once again deprive the North of the
\nrights to its eight years term as president of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
“God forbid, if APC wins, Tinubu\u2019s agenda is to first get the APC
\npresidential candidate, Prof Yemi Osinbajo to resign within six months for
\nhim (Tinubu) to take over as Vice President, hoping that the task of
\ngoverning the country will overwhelm Buhari and aggravate his sickness,
\nthereby paving way for Tinubu to take over as president.<\/p>\n
“That’s the reason Tinubu plotted against a younger and vibrant Northerner
\nlike Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and opted for a 78 year old Buhari as the
\nAPC candidate.<\/p>\n
“The question to ask Tinubu and his cohorts in the APC is simple; if
\nTinubu’s godson, Governor Babatunde Fashola is saying that 57 year old
\nJimi Agbaje is too old to rule Lagos State, how then can they present a 78
\nyear old Buhari to be President of the whole country?<\/p>\n
“The answer is also simple, they want a president that would die in office
\nso that they can take over Nigeria. Even during campaigns, Buhari was
\nalready collapsing.<\/p>\n
“God will not allow these desperate people to plunge Nigeria into another
\ncrisis.<\/p>\n
“Therefore, our brothers and sisters in the North should not be deceived
\nby those promoting Buhari as a Northern candidate. They should know that
\nthe unity and peaceful co-existence of Nigeria and its people is
\nparamount, and waiting for another four years to have the presidency won’t
\nbe too much a sacrifice to make,” Fayose said.<\/p>\n
