PDP North-Central Governors on Saturday promised to deliver 100 per cent<\/p>\n
votes to ensure the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in next
\nmonth\u2019s general elections.<\/p>\n
They made the pledge at the end of their closed door meeting with Senate
\nPresident David Mark and all the PDP governorship candidates in the zone.<\/p>\n
The governors also pledged to recapture Nasarawa and Kwara, currently
\nunder the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership.<\/p>\n
Gov. Jonah Jang of Plateau State told newsmen that PDP was formed in the
\nNorth-Central, adding that the zone would continue to be the pillar for
\nthe party.<\/p>\n

\u201cPDP was formed in the North Central zone, and therefore, North-Central
\nZone will continue to be PDP.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy the Grace of the Almighty God, we are delivering all the six states in
\nthe North Central plus the FCT to President Jonathan.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will win all the governorship positions and all the other positions in
\nthe North-Central by the grace of God.\u201d<\/p>\n

On his part, Gov. Gabriel Suswam of Benue said the meeting was aimed at
\nre-strategising towards achieving 100 per cent votes for President
\nJonathan and to ensure victory for all the PDP candidates in the zone.<\/p>\n

\u201cNorth Central zone is the pillar of the Presidential election, we want to
\nmeet and strategise as to how we can make sure that the President comes
\nback on Feb. 14.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have done that, we will be meeting from time to time to review and
\nreassess ourselves before the elections<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are very confident that North-Central will deliver 100 per cent to
\nPresident Goodluck Jonathan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gov. Aliyu Babangida of Niger said that the meeting was held essentially
\nto devise stategy on how to recapture Nasarawa and Kwara states.<\/p>\n
He said that stakeholders of the party would continue to meet periodically
\nuntil the North-Central was completely delivered to the PDP in next
\nmonth\u2019s elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cNorth central has always been the main foundation of PDP and we want to
\nmake sure that the 2015 elections also is reflected in that way.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to recapture our two states of Nassarawa and Kwara and ensure
\nthat the other four states are delivered to the PDP.<\/p>\n
\u201cEssentially that is what we have discussed here and then the cooperation
\nthat is needed to do that.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been the pillar since 1999 to date, the pillar of the PDP and we
\nneed to meet and that is why we are meeting to make sure that we harmonise
\nall our positions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting was attended by
\nministers, legislators, PDP governorship candidates from Niger, Nasarawa,
\nKwara, Benue and Plateau states as well as their respective running mates.
