The National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), says the Federal<\/p>\n
Government is planning to introduce a law that will ban and block all porn
\nwebsites in the country.<\/p>\n
He stated this at the closing ceremony of a three-day workshop on use of
\nsocial media organised for Islamic preachers, Imams and youths in Kaduna
\non Sunday.<\/p>\n
Reports indicated that the workshop, which was organised by the national
\nbody of Izalatil Bid\u2019a Wa\u2019iqamatis Sunna (JIBWIS), aimed at correcting
\nanomalies in the use of social media.<\/p>\n
Dasuki, who was represented by the Minister of Special Duties, Alhaji
\nKabiru Turaki, said: \u201cGovernment is planning to ban and block websites
\nthat inculcate negative attitudes in our children but we need a law to
\nsupport such move.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause without a law, people can go to court and claim infringement on
\ntheir rights.\u201d<\/p>\n
While urging preachers to avoid use of unguided utterances against
\nleaders, Dasuki said that preachers were not politicians but they must
\nplay politics.<\/p>\n
In his remarks, Gov. Muktar Yero of Kaduna State stressed the need for
\ncredible people to join politics in order to contribute their quota toward
\nsanitizing the system.<\/p>\n
He cautioned people against the use of social media negatively to
\nblackmail others.<\/p>\n
Yero called on Muslims to be united and intensify efforts on prayers
\ntoward a violent-free elections.<\/p>\n
The National Chairman of the Islamic organisation, Sheikh Abdullahi
\nBala-Lau, appealed to the Federal Government to do everything within its
\npower to avoid blood shade, especially in the North-Eastern sub-region.<\/p>\n
He urged leaders in the country to ensure equity, justice and fair play in
\nleading Nigerian citizens irrespective of their religious affiliation.
\nBala-Lau advised politicians not to use the workshop venue to send
\nprovocative messages to their rivals.<\/p>\n
The Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, who was represented by Alhaji
\nYahaya Yusuf, called on Muslims to emulate the holy Prophet of Islam in
\nboth character and action to attract more people to Islam.<\/p>\n
