The people of Ideoto North and Ideoto South Council Areas have disowned
\nthe Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha who hails from the area for
\nfailing to live up to expectation and disappointing the state through bad
\nleadership.<\/p>\n
They have according to them, resolved to vote massively for the Deputy
\nSpeaker, House of Representatives and PDP Governorship Candidate for the
\nforth coming general elections, Chief Emeka Ihedioha.<\/p>\n
Making their position known at the Statewide Governorship Campaign Rallies
\nheld separately at the Council Areas, they described Gov. Okorocha\u2019s
\nadministration as \u2018\u2018selfish and uncoordinated\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n
This was followed by the massive defection of over 5, 000 APC and APGA
\nmembers in the area led by the Governor\u2019s inlaw, Chief Chinedu Okoro, a
\nchieftain of the APC to the PDP.<\/p>\n
Speaking amongst other leaders at the rally, the Chairman of National
\nPopulation Commission and former Chairman of PDP Imo State, Chief Eze
\nDuruiheoma SAN said, \u2018\u2018Gov. Okorocha is our brother but we must rise above
\nsentiments if our state and indeed Nigeria must make progress. The truth
\nis that Okorocha has disappointed and embarrassed us with his poor
\nleadership and. His government has failed woefully in all the sectors of
\nthe state.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2018The need for a positive change has become, more than ever before, very
\nimportant and hasty in order to address the comatose state of Imo State.
\nWe have embraced Chief Emeka Ihdeioha, the PDP flagbearer because of his
\nexperience, transparency and track record of service and we are sure that
\nhe will as usual deliver the dividends of democracy to Imo people.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
Addressing the tumultuous crowd of party supporters and APC defectors,
\nformer governor of Imo State and Presidential Campaign Coordinator for Imo
\nState, Chief Achike Udenwa said Gov. Okorocha has not only strangulated
\nthe state economy, but has breached an agreement reached with him for a
\nsingle term of four years and relinquish power.<\/p>\n
He reiterated the need to support, Hon. Ihedioha as governor of Imo State,
\npointing out that it is the turn of Owerri Zone to produce the Governor
\nthis time since other zones have had theirs.<\/p>\n
Other speakers who attested to the capacity and credentials of Chief
\nIhedioha include, Chairman, Imo PDP, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, Sen. Chris
\nAnyanwu, Hope Uzodinma, Amb. Greg Mbadiwe, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu,
\nformer Deputy Governors and numerous party leaders.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Campaign train paid courtesy visits to the traditional rulers
\nof the council areas where the Governorship hopeful was blessed and prayed
