Rivers State Governor and Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) Rt.<\/p>\n
Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi says the All Progressives Congress (APC)
\nPresidential flag bearer, General Muhammadu Buhari will instill discipline
\nand uprightness on corrupt public officials in the country if he wins this
\nyear\u2019s Presidential election.<\/p>\n
Governor Amaechi who is also the Director General of Muhammadu Buhari
\nCampaign Organization said, corruption will disappear in Nigeria
\nparticularly in government ministries if Muhammadu Buhari is elected
\nPresident of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Governor Amaechi spoke on Wednesday when he performed the swearing in of
\nnine new Permanent Secretaries at the Council Chambers of Government
\nHouse, Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n
Those sworn-in are Amieyefori Joseph, Marcus Anga, Samuel Egbe and Dagogo
\nHeart. Others are Mrs A. E. Petito, Augustine Orlu Orlu, Sam Woka,
\nKingsley Hart and Mrs. Ibaniba Abella Briggs.<\/p>\n
Amaechi said, Nigerians were tired of the PDP leadership under President
\nGoodluck Jonathan, hence the need for change.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were sharing some discussions in the bus in the cause of our campaign.
\nThe President and the PDP never knew that there will be a time like this
\nin Nigeria when Nigerians will be asking for change, not because of APC or
\nAmaechi but because they are tired of what is going on, no matter the lies
\nyou tell, Nigerians just want change any type of change they want it. It
\ncould be change for the better, it could be change even for the worse but
\nthey certainly want change\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
He urged the newly sworn in Permanent Secretaries to see their appointment
\nas a call to service delivery.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the same manner, the civil servant and Nigeria cannot continue to be
\nthe way it is going. So if you think you would continue to collect money
\nand continue to do things the way you like one day you will just wake up
\nand consider that people will start chasing you around and you will be
\nwondering why you are being chased\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t be one of those Permanent Secretaries that history will have on the
\nwrong side of the society. If you don\u2019t want to serve please resign
\nbecause it comes with challenges. Just imagine the days when J. E. Amadi
\nwas a Permanent Secretary, now Permanent Secretaries have houses
\neverywhere, estates they have built for themselves and busy sharing money.
\nYou better change because the Buhari\u2019s government will force change on
\neverybody. I hope you listened to him (Buhari), he is not talking about
\nEFCC, he said there are rules of the civil service. If we obey those rules
\ncorruption will seize. If we all run government by those rules then we
\nwill have a better country. Let me congratulate you on behalf of the
