Reports suggest that the All Progressive Congress, APC, Presidential<\/p>\n
Candidate, General Mohammadu Buhari has traveled to the United Kingdom to
\nseek medical attention.<\/p>\n
But the APC in a Press Statement said its Presidential Candidate is on a
\n“working visit to the U.K.”<\/p>\n
A Security source attached to the APC Presidential candidate told
\nPointblanknews.com that General Buhari, 72, left a board a British Airways
\nthis morning.<\/p>\n
The source who does not want to be named said the APC Presidential
\ncandidate has not been too healthy and was advised to seek medical
\nattention overseas.<\/p>\n
According to the source, party officials were advised to keep the issue of
\nthe health situation of the retired General under wraps so as not to
\njeopardize the campaign and chances of the party at the March 28 polls.<\/p>\n
The source said media managers of the APC campaigns were advised to issue
\nPress Release on Buhari’s trip but should not mention his health
\nchallenges.<\/p>\n
The APC Presidential Media Department later issued a statement claiming
\nthe Presidential Candidate has left for the United Kingdom on a working
\nvisit.<\/p>\n
The statement issued by Mallam Garba Shehu said General Buhari would be
\nhaving meetings with key members of the “British Political establishment.”
\nHe did not name the personalities.<\/p>\n
Shehu also said the APC Presidential candidate “would hopefully give a
\ntalk” at the Chatam House.<\/p>\n
Buhari is alleged to be suffering from prostrate cancer.<\/p>\n
The APC Statement reads:
\nThe Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General
\nMuhammadu Buhari today (Thursday) left Abuja on a short working visit to
\nthe United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
In the course of this visit, General Buhari is expected to hold meetings
\nwith key members of the British political establishment and interact with
\nsome global institutions with stakeholder interest in the affairs of
\nNigeria.<\/p>\n
General Buhari would hopefully give a talk at the prestigious foreign
\npolicy hub, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatam House in
\nLondon.<\/p>\n
