The capture of Bama has led to the discovery of horrendous atrocities<\/p>\n
perpetrated by terrorists while their hold on the town lasted, and as they
\nfled.<\/p>\n
A large number of dead bodies were discovered in wells apparently of some
\nof their hostages or those who resisted them\u201d, a source told PRNigeria.<\/p>\n
Aside those whose bodies were thrown inside wells, others were also said
\nto have been executed on the River Bama Bridge as the terrorists fled the
\ntown. Civilians who have been cooperating with troops also narrated
\nhorrendous tales of the brutality of the terrorists while they held sway
\nand ruled with iron hands, executing their own version of religious
\njurisprudence.<\/p>\n
An intelligence officer confirmed to that the cordon and search of the
\ntown was continuing while some persons in the town are also being
\ninterrogated by troops. Military and security sources confirmed to
\nPRNigeria that as troops advanced on Bama the terrorists embarked on a
\nkilling and maiming spree.<\/p>\n
Military medical teams and emergency workers have been attending to
\nsurvivors and evacuating internally displaced persons as screening of the
\ntown continues.\u201d<\/p>\n
When contacted, Defence Spokesman, Major General Chris Olukolade declined
\ncommenting on specific atrocities by the terrorists saying specific
\ndetails will only be given after the ongoing thorough search of the town
\nand its environments is concluded.<\/p>\n
With the dislodgement of terrorists from most of their locations in the
\nNorth East and especially Bama, mop up operations by troops have been
\nrevealing heart rendering atrocities perpetrated while the terrorists held
\nsway in the towns and villages.<\/p>\n
