Rivers State Governor and Director-General of the All Progressives
\nCongress(APC) Presidential Campaign, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has
\naccused the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the state and former Minister
\nof Education, Chief Nyesom Wike of giving one million dollars monthly to
\nthe wife of the President, Mrs Patience Jonathan.<\/p>\n
Amaechi\u00a0 spoke at a Praise and Worship session organized by the Ikwerre
\nYouth Movement (IYM) and Ikwerre Women Forum (IWF) at Isiokpo,
\nheadquarters of Ikwerre Local Government Area of the State.<\/p>\n
According to him, \u201cDo you know that the PDP Guber Candidate, Nyesom Wike
\nhas been giving one million dollars monthly to the wife of the President,
\nMrs Patience Jonathan? He has been doing this to gain political favour in
\nthe Presidency and to retain the favour\u2026\u00a0 For eight years our Okrika
\nbrother (Senator George Sekibo) has been occupying the senate(Rivers East)
\nseat and now it is the turn of an Ikwerre son, but, Nyesom Wike has gone
\nahead to accept another four years for George Thompson Sekibo.\u00a0 This is
\nnot acceptable, Chief Andrew Uchendu will take over this time, one man
\ncalled Nyesom Wike cannot sell Ikwerre birth right\u201d, Amaechi said.<\/p>\n
He also accused Nyesom Wike of sponsoring the killing of an APC member who
\nwas shot dead recently in the home town of the PDP Gubernatorial flag
\nbearer, and accused the police of bias as it could not arrest the PDP
\nhoodlums who committed the murder.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn Friday, Nyesom Wike killed an Ikwerre man in his village when he
\nordered his boys to gun down an APC member. And the police would not
\narrest the PDP hoodlums because they are biased \u201d, Amaechi said.<\/p>\n
In the same vein, the Ikwerre Youth Movement, (IYM) and the Ikwerre Women
\nForum (IWF), have issued a communiqu\u00e9 endorsing the Presidential Candidate
\nof APC, General Muhammadu Buhari and the APC Gubernatorial Flag bearer, Dr
\nDakuku Adol-Peterside as President of Nigeria and Governor of Rivers State
\nin the March 28 and April 11, 2015 general elections respectively.<\/p>\n
The groups said they have over one million card carrying members across
\nthe four Ikwerre Local Government Areas of the state.<\/p>\n
The group condemned all sponsored political violence and killings in
\nremote parts of the state by the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).<\/p>\n
The groups also support the principle of equity and justice in selecting
\nand voting of credible candidates in the general elections.<\/p>\n
The groups hailed the decision of INEC to use the card readers in the 2015
\ngeneral elections, adding that they are committed to mobilizing APC
\nmembers and supporters to win the elections.<\/p>\n
The groups blamed the PDP Guber Candidate, Chief Nyesom Wike for the
\npolitical intolerance in the state.<\/p>\n
On his part, APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr Dakuku Adol-Peterside has
\nexpressed immense appreciation to the Ikwerre Youth Movement, the Ikwerre
\nWomen forum and the entire Ikwerre ethnic nationality for endorsing him as
\nGovernor of Rivers State and Muhammadu Buhari as President in the general
\nelections.<\/p>\n
While thanking the supreme council of Traditional Rulers in Ikwerreland
\nand other supportive groups, Dakuku Peterside said, he is determined to
\npromote women and youth empowerment.<\/p>\n
Also speaking, the President-General of Ikwerre Youth Movement, IYM, Hon.
\nAzubuike Wanjoku assured Rivers people that the group will work towards
\nensuring equity and justice in the 2015 general elections.<\/p>\n
\u201cNyesom Wike formed Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI) so he can kill
\nall Ikwerre people for PDP before the 2015 general elections.\u00a0 This battle
\nis between God and Ogboni.\u00a0 Nyesom Wike is on the side of the devil, he
\nwill fail.\u00a0 And that is why we are here today to put our trust in God to
\nwin the elections.\u201d, Wanjoku said.<\/p>\n
The President of Ikwerre Women Forum, IWF, Engineer Victoria Nyeche also
\ngave indication that Ikwerre women will not disappoint all candidates of
\nthe All Progressives Congress, APC in the 2015 elections.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Governor Amaechi in continuation of his door-to-door
\nsensitization campaign tour to Ubima, Umuowa, Omerelu and Apani
\ncommunities urged the people of Ikwerreland to judiciously use their PVCs
\nto vote for the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 general elections.<\/p>\n
The governor said Rivers people and Nigerians in general will experience
\nmassive development in all sectors when General Muhammadu Buhari wins as
\nPresident.<\/p>\n
