A Youth leader of the All Progressives Congress was on Saturday clubbed to<\/p>\n
death and his body set ablaze by thugs in Ikpoba Okha Local Government
\nArea of Edo State.<\/p>\n
The Youth leader, Igie Osayande, met his untimely death when thugs invaded
\nWard 9, Units 9, 10 and 11 in Obagienevbosa Community, off Sapele Road, in
\nIkpoba Okha Local Government Area.<\/p>\n
According to the APC Agent in Ward Unit 11, Mr Sunny Osagiede, trouble
\nstarted when the thugs stormed the area demanding to be accredited long
\nafter accreditation had closed and voting had commenced.<\/p>\n
According to Osagiede, efforts by the leader of the thugs ( names
\nwithheld) to get accreditation were rebuffed by the Presiding Officer who
\ntold him that voting had already commenced. He was then prevailed upon by
\nthe policeman on duty at the unit to leave the area.\u201d<\/p>\n
Osagiede said the trouble escalated when the thugs returned to the ward
\nafter the calls with his boys and scattered the ballot boxes and tore the
\nballot papers into shreds.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn an attempt to resist them, the APC youth leade, Igie Osagiede, was
\nattacked by the thugs and clubbed to death. His body was also set ablaze.

He said the body of the deceased youth leader has been deposited at a morgue.<\/p>\n
