According\u00a0 to\u00a0 the\u00a0 result\u00a0 released\u00a0 by\u00a0 the\u00a0 Independent\u00a0 National Electoral Commission(INEC),President\u00a0 Jonathan\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 PDP\u00a0 got\u00a0 at\u00a0 least\u00a0 25 %\u00a0 of\u00a0 votes \u00a0in\u00a0 25\u00a0 states\u00a0 and\u00a0 Federal\u00a0 Capital Territory(FCT)\u00a0 while\u00a0\u00a0 General \u00a0Buhari(retd.)\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 APC\u00a0 scored\u00a0 at\u00a0 least\u00a0 25% of\u00a0 the\u00a0 votes\u00a0 cast\u00a0 in\u00a0 26\u00a0 states\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0 FCT. One\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 highlights\u00a0 of\u00a0 event, albeit\u00a0 a\u00a0 negativity,\u00a0 is\u00a0 that\u00a0 in\u00a0 Kano\u00a0 State, the\u00a0 APC\u00a0 candidate,\u00a0 GMB\u00a0\u00a0 polled\u00a0 1,903,999(80.53%)votes\u00a0 while\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 PDP\u00a0 candidate, GEJ,\u00a0 polled 215,779 (9.13% votes).In \u00a0the\u00a0 same\u00a0 vein,\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 announcements\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 results\u00a0 were\u00a0\u00a0 briefly\u00a0 disrupted when\u00a0 the\u00a0 former\u00a0 Minister\u00a0 of\u00a0 Niger\u00a0 Delta\u00a0 Affairs, MR.\u00a0 Godswill Orubebe forced\u00a0 himself\u00a0 into\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 venue\u00a0 and\u00a0 openly\u00a0\u00a0 accused\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 National\u00a0 Chairman\u00a0 of\u00a0 INEC, Professor\u00a0 Jega, of\u00a0 partiality\u00a0 in\u00a0 favour\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 the All\u00a0 Progressives\u00a0 Congress( APC). He\u00a0 complained\u00a0 bitterly\u00a0 of\u00a0 INEC\u2019s\u00a0 acceptance\u00a0 of\u00a0 APC\u2019s\u00a0\u00a0 petition\u00a0 regarding\u00a0 the\u00a0 Rivers State\u00a0 Election,\u00a0 while\u00a0 refusing\u00a0 to\u00a0 accept\u00a0 that\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 PDP\u00a0 in\u00a0 respect\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 results in Kano, Kaduna\u00a0 and\u00a0 Jigawa. As\u00a0 a\u00a0 result\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 peaceful\u00a0\u00a0 disposition of President\u00a0 Goodluck\u00a0 Jonathan,\u00a0 the\u00a0 matter\u00a0 was\u00a0\u00a0 amicably\u00a0 resolved\u00a0 to\u00a0 the\u00a0 chagrin\u00a0 and\u00a0 discomfiture\u00a0 of\u00a0 a\u00a0 cross\u00a0 section\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 responsible\u00a0 members\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 global\u00a0\u00a0 community\u00a0 especially\u00a0 the\u00a0 members\u00a0 and\u00a0 supporters\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 PDP. At\u00a0 the\u00a0 time\u00a0 of\u00a0 filing \u00a0this\u00a0 report,\u00a0 the\u00a0 grapevine\u00a0 was\u00a0\u00a0 awash\u00a0 with\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 news\u00a0 that\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 Resident\u00a0 Electoral Commissioner(REC)\u00a0 of\u00a0 Kano\u00a0 State\u00a0 who\u00a0 presided\u00a0 over\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 controversial\u00a0\u00a0 result\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 Kano\u00a0 State\u00a0 poll\u00a0 was\u00a0 dead. According\u00a0 to\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 unconfirmed\u00a0 report,\u00a0 the\u00a0 Kano\u00a0 REC, Mikhail Abdullah, died\u00a0 in\u00a0 a\u00a0 fire\u00a0 outbreak\u00a0 at\u00a0 his\u00a0 house in Kano State, north west\u00a0 of\u00a0 Nigeria. Perhaps, by\u00a0 the\u00a0 time\u00a0 this\u00a0 viewpoint\u00a0 is\u00a0\u00a0 published,\u00a0 the\u00a0 authenticity\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 story\u00a0 would\u00a0 have\u00a0 been\u00a0 verified.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I wish\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 commend\u00a0 President\u00a0 Goodluck\u00a0 Ebele\u00a0 Jonathan (GEJ)\u00a0 for\u00a0 \u00a0presiding\u00a0 over\u00a0 a\u00a0\u00a0 great \u00a0\u00a0presidential\/NASS\u00a0\u00a0 election\u00a0\u00a0 that was\u00a0 devoid\u00a0 of\u00a0 any\u00a0 atom\u00a0 or\u00a0 scintilla\u00a0 of\u00a0 manipulation\u00a0 from\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 his\u00a0\u00a0 office. For\u00a0 the\u00a0 first\u00a0 time\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 political\u00a0\u00a0 evolution\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 Nigeria,\u00a0 an\u00a0 election\u00a0 was\u00a0\u00a0 conducted\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 nation&#8217;s\u00a0 President \u00a0\u00a0was\u00a0 not\u00a0\u00a0 implicated\u00a0 in\u00a0 any\u00a0 case\u00a0 of\u00a0 <em>Magomago, Wuruwuru\u00a0 or\u00a0 even\u00a0 Jibiti. <\/em>I pour\u00a0 encomiums\u00a0 on GEJ&#8217;s\u00a0 decision\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 concede\u00a0 defeat\u00a0 in\u00a0 a \u00a0timely\u00a0 manner\u00a0 rather\u00a0 than\u00a0 turning\u00a0 the\u00a0 political\u00a0 space into\u00a0 a\u00a0\u00a0 war\u00a0 theatre <em>in\u00a0 a\u00a0 <\/em>frantic\u00a0 bid\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 actualize\u00a0 his\u00a0 political\u00a0\u00a0 agenda. Unlike\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 majority\u00a0 of\u00a0 our\u00a0 politicians who\u00a0 are\u00a0\u00a0 guided\u00a0 by\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 doctrine\u00a0 of\u00a0 Prince\u00a0 Niccolo\u00a0 Machiaveli\u00a0 which\u00a0 posit\u00a0 that\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 end\u00a0 justifies\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 means,\u00a0 President\u00a0 Ebele Azikiwe\u00a0 Jonathan\u00a0 belongs\u00a0 to\u00a0 the\u00a0 School\u00a0 of\u00a0 Thought\u00a0 who\u00a0 posit\u00a0 that\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 highest\u00a0 form\u00a0 of\u00a0 heroism\u00a0 is\u00a0 the\u00a0 ability\u00a0 to\u00a0 conquer\u00a0\u00a0 self\u00a0 (of\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 virus\u00a0 of\u00a0 pride,\u00a0 hubris\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 arrogance. As\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 President\u00a0 and\u00a0 Commander\u00a0 -in-Chief\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 Armed\u00a0 Forces\u00a0 who\u00a0\u00a0 controls\u00a0 all\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 accoutrements, appurtenances\u00a0 and\u00a0 trappings\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0 legitimate\u00a0 power,\u00a0 he\u00a0 had\u00a0 the\u00a0 option\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 turn\u00a0 Nigeria\u00a0 to\u00a0 a\u00a0 wasteland\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 death but,\u00a0 as\u00a0 Providence\u00a0 guided\u00a0 him , he\u00a0\u00a0 chose\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 pull\u00a0 Nigeria\u00a0 back\u00a0 from\u00a0 the\u00a0 precipice\u00a0 of\u00a0 a\u00a0 bottomless\u00a0 chasm\u00a0 and\u00a0 canyon. Praise\u00a0 God\u00a0 for\u00a0 the\u00a0 gift\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 President\u00a0 Ebele\u00a0 Azikiwe\u00a0 Jonathan\u00a0 without\u00a0 who\u00a0 I\u00a0 would\u00a0 not\u00a0 have\u00a0 had\u00a0 the peace \u00a0of\u00a0 mind\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 do\u00a0 this\u00a0 piece\u00a0 you\u00a0 are\u00a0 reading. At\u00a0 a\u00a0 time\u00a0 when\u00a0 some\u00a0 blood-thirsty\u00a0\u00a0 tyrants\u00a0 were\u00a0 threatening\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 that\u00a0 \u201cthe\u00a0\u00a0 baboons\u00a0 and\u00a0 dogs\u00a0 would stew\u00a0 in\u00a0 their\u00a0 own\u00a0 source\u201d if\u00a0 they\u00a0 did\u00a0 not\u00a0 win\u00a0 the\u00a0 election,\u00a0 the\u00a0 most\u00a0 powerful\u00a0 person\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 country, GEJ,\u00a0 was\u00a0 frantically\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 searching\u00a0 for\u00a0 peace\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 tranquility. As\u00a0 a\u00a0 Christian,\u00a0 GEJ\u00a0 did\u00a0 not\u00a0 have\u00a0 an\u00a0 option\u00a0 because\u00a0 THE\u00a0 BOOK\u00a0 enjoins\u00a0 the\u00a0 followers\u00a0 of\u00a0 Christ\u00a0 to\u00a0 always\u00a0 pursue\u00a0 peacel\u00a0 more\u00a0 so,\u00a0 at\u00a0 a\u00a0 time\u00a0 Christendom\u00a0 is\u00a0\u00a0 celebrating\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 death\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0 resurrection\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 RISEN\u00a0 CHRIST.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It\u00a0 is\u00a0 also\u00a0 gratifying\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 note\u00a0 that President\u00a0 GEJ&#8217;s\u00a0\u00a0 humility\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 face\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 insuperable\u00a0\u00a0 odds\u00a0 is\u00a0 in\u00a0 tandem\u00a0 with\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 doctrine\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 former\u00a0 U.S\u00a0 President , Bill\u00a0 Jefferson\u00a0 Clinton,\u00a0 who\u00a0 during\u00a0 one\u00a0 of\u00a0 his\u00a0\u00a0 visits\u00a0 to\u00a0 some\u00a0 African\u00a0 nations\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 enjoined\u00a0 Africans\u00a0 to build\u00a0 strong\u00a0 political\u00a0 institutions\u00a0 instead\u00a0 of\u00a0 building\u00a0 strong\u00a0 or\u00a0 powerful\u00a0 politicians\u00a0 or\u00a0 persons.
