{"id":37653,"date":"2015-04-09T17:27:59","date_gmt":"2015-04-09T16:27:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=37653"},"modified":"2015-04-09T17:27:59","modified_gmt":"2015-04-09T16:27:59","slug":"oronto-douglas-a-worthy-example-for-youths-jonathan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/oronto-douglas-a-worthy-example-for-youths-jonathan\/","title":{"rendered":"Oronto Douglas, a worthy example for youths -Jonathan"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"color: #262626;\">President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday said he was deeply saddened by the death of his Special Adviser on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Mr. Oronto Douglas.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\">Douglas died in the early hours of the day at the State House Clinic, Abuja during a protracted battle with cancer.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\">In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the President described the deceased as a worthy and shinning example for Nigerian youths.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\">He said he would always remember Douglas for his passion for work and outstanding commitment to duties.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\">The President extended his condolences to the Douglas family and the government and people of Bayelsa State on the death of his aide who he described as one of their most distinguished sons who served his country, state and the Niger Delta region, passionately and diligently, during his very impactful years on earth.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\">He recalled that the deceased was his personal aide for close to a decade.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\">The statement read, \u201cThe President will always remember him for his passion for work, excellence, inspiring creativity and outstanding commitment to his duties.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\">\u201cThe President remains thankful to God Almighty for the brilliance and resourcefulness that Oronto brought to bear on every assignment as a loyal and dutiful aide during his tenure as Governor of Bayelsa State and as Vice President, Acting President and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\">\u201cPresident Jonathan believes that Oronto will remain a shining and worthy example for every young Nigerian who seeks a life of service and achievement.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\">\u201cHe prays that Almighty God will grant Oronto\u2019s soul eternal rest, and the Douglas family and everyone who knew him, the fortitude to bear the pain of his death.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\">\u201cFormal funeral arrangements will be announced by the Douglas family.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday said he was deeply saddened by the death of his Special Adviser on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Mr. Oronto Douglas.
