{"id":38564,"date":"2015-05-12T15:19:34","date_gmt":"2015-05-12T14:19:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=38564"},"modified":"2015-05-12T15:19:34","modified_gmt":"2015-05-12T14:19:34","slug":"gov-orji-inaugurates-18-member-committee-to-appraise-the-performance-of-pdp-in-the-last-general-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/gov-orji-inaugurates-18-member-committee-to-appraise-the-performance-of-pdp-in-the-last-general-elections\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov Orji Inaugurates 18-member Committee to Appraise the Performance of PDP in the Last General Elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has inaugurated an 18-member<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">committee to appraise the performance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">in the state in the last general elections.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The committee headed by a former state chairman of the PDP in the state,<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Chief Ndidi Okereke, is charged among others with the responsibility of<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ascertaining the perceivable problems and constraints faced by the party<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">during the elections.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Inaugurating the committee at the Government House, Umuahia, Governor Orji<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">charged the committee to review and appraise the performance of the party<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">in the last polls and ascertain the remote and perceived problems faced by<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the party in that election with a view to proffering solutions capable of<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">leading to improved performance in future polls.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Governor said that even though the PDP won in many\u00a0 of the contested<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">elections in the last elections in the state, that victory did not generate<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the usual euphoria that characterize the party in the previous elections.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To that end, he said that the committee is to provide the way forward for<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the party including requirements for reforming and rebuilding a stronger<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">and more resilient PDP in the state, and gave the committee two weeks to<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">complete the assignment.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Responding on behalf of the others, the chairman of the committee, Chief<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ndidi Okereke thanked the Governor for the opportunity given to them to<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">serve and promised to do the job judiciously.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Members of the committee include: Chief Ndidi Okereke &#8211; Chairman, Chief<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Charles Ogbonnaya, Iheanacho Achim, Dr. Sam Ahiwe, Chief Chinagorom<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nwankpa, Chief Isaac Ogbonna, K.O. Mgbeahuru, Ngozi Ekeke.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000;\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Others are Hon. Emeka Stanley, Rt. Hon.
