Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Obasanjo had generously supported Buhari in the run up to the March 28 presidential polls by subtly campaigning for him while running down his opponent,president Goodluck Jonathan with heavy criticisms.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1431694165270_8096\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Malam Garba Shehu, Director Media and Publicity to the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, made this known in a news briefing in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Obasanjo had generously supported Buhari in the run up to the March 28 presidential polls by subtly campaigning for him while running down his opponent,president Goodluck Jonathan with heavy criticisms.<\/p>\n<p>Shehu said that the report was presented \u2018\u2019at a brief closed-door ceremony by Vice Chairman of the think-tank, and former Finance Minister, Dr Kalu Idika Kalu.<br \/>\nHe said that the report focused on education, power, economy, security and infrastructure, adding that Obasanjo commissioned the committee on the assignment about four months ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThe whole idea was that Obasanjo set up his own think-tank with the aim of carrying out a study on challenges facing the country in five key areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThe study was commissioned four months ago so that the outcome will be made available to the incoming administration after the election,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dDr Christopher Kolade, who heads the power committee, gave various stages of the proposed power sector development plan to include, short-term, medium-term and long-term solutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dUnder the short-term solution, the plan seeks to raise the country\u2019s power generation to 10,000 MW within a very short period of time,\u201d Shehu said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the president-elect expressed gratitude to Obasanjo and his team, describing their intervention as a great impetus for the incoming government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThe president-elect regretted that the outgoing government that is supposed to give him tips on how to take-off has done nothing so far.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dHe thanked the Obasanjo think-tank for its gesture, assuring them that his incoming administration would need its advice as time goes on,\u201d he said<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">NewsExpress&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"base-card-clear\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A think-tank constituted by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to support incoming administration\u2019s transition on Thursday presented its report to President-elect, retired Maj.-Gen.
