In furtherance of its expansion plan in African countries, Leading Cement
\nmanufacturers, Dangote Cement Plc will next week Thursday commission its
\n2.5million mtpa cement plant in Ethiopia as the company inches towards the
\nmark of 40million mtpa total production capacity globally before the end
\nof 2015<\/p>\n

Located in Mugher District, the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic
\nRepublic of Ethiopia. Prime Minister of the Mr. Haile Mariam Desalegne Is
\nexpected to perform the opening ceremony at an event that will be graced
\nby top members of Nigeria business community.<\/p>\n

A statement from the Dangote Group indicated that the government and the
\npeople of Ethiopia are excited about the timely completion of the project
\nand the economic prospects of having such a huge company in that area of
\nthe country.<\/p>\n

An invitation letter sent by the Dangote Cement to the Chief Executive
\nOfficer of one of the commercial banks showed that Nigerian guests would
\nbe flown to Ethiopia next week Wednesday, June 3 to witness the event on
\nThursday, June 5 and would be brought back to Nigeria on Friday, June 6.<\/p>\n

The Dangote Cement plant said to be the single largest Investment by an
\nAfrican will be the fifth in the series of the offshore plants of the
\ncompany that have rolled out cement within the last one year in African
\ncontinent, coming after Senegal, Cameroon, South Africa and Zambia.<\/p>\n

Nine other countries are on the card as the cement plants are in various
\nstages of construction.<\/p>\n

The company is investing $5 billion to build an African cement empire,
\nwith factories plants in 14 African countries.<\/p>\n

Recently, its $300 million Greenfield cement plant in Senegal rolled
\nproducts into the market in that country with the Senegalese government
\npromises all assistance a required for Dangote Cement to perform maximally
\nas its entry into the Senegal has stir up economic activities.<\/p>\n

Nigeria Ambassador to Senegal and Mauritania,\u00a0 said \u201cI am very proud of
\nwhat Dangote is doing by promoting intra -African investments, promoting
\nregional development, industrialisation and cohesion among African
\nnations with his investments. We need more Africans like Dangote to be at
\nthe forefront of promoting intra- African investments,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n

According to her, Dangote Cement has done Nigeria proud with the
\ncommencement of production and that she was happy that Dangite Cement has
\nbeen instantly accepted in the marker because of the high quality grade.<\/p>\n

Senegal Director of Mines, Ousmane Cisse, lauded the doggedness of the
\nChairman of Dangote Cement; Aliko Dangote has seen the plant through
\ndespite various setbacks.<\/p>\n

\u201cDangote Cement is a great project for the country and the consumers. We
\nexpect that the investments will not only make high quality cement
\navailable to our people, it will increase the purchasing power of
\nconsumers to help the country develop more and more.
\nReduction of poverty<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a government, we look forward to get more revenue from the sector, and
\nfor our local communities surrounding the plant, more jobs that will
\nreduce poverty and generate more upstream and downstream activities. Our
\nSMEs will be developed and the multiplier effects on our industries, the
\ngovernment and to all stakeholders will be beneficial,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
