{"id":39018,"date":"2015-05-31T00:39:33","date_gmt":"2015-05-30T23:39:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=39018"},"modified":"2015-05-31T00:39:33","modified_gmt":"2015-05-30T23:39:33","slug":"buhari-warns-airport-officials-against-stopping-ex-ministers-from-travelling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/buhari-warns-airport-officials-against-stopping-ex-ministers-from-travelling\/","title":{"rendered":"Buhari warns airport officials, against stopping ex-Ministers from travelling"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mailview-right\" class=\"offset uibox\">\n<div id=\"messagecontent\">\n<div class=\"leftcol\">\n<div id=\"messagebody\">\n<div class=\"message-htmlpart\">\n<div class=\"rcmBody\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">President Muhammadu Buhari Saturday said he never gave any directive to airport officials to stop ex ministers from travelling abroad.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Buhari insisted officials of past administrations including ministers are entitled to their full rights and privileges under the constitution, and must not be subjected to any undue harassment and intimidation at the airports or at other points of entry and exit.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe have not banned anyone from travelling,\u201d Mr. Buhari said in a statement Saturday.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Responding to some cases of \u201cV.I.P stoppages\u201d at the airports as reported to him on Saturday, President Buhari directed all agencies under the government to run their affairs in full compliance with extant rules, regulations and the constitution of the country.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cUnless otherwise directed by the courts, no law-abiding citizens should be barred from travelling abroad,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe must treat fellow citizens with courtesy and respect. Officials at the borders and other points of entry and exit should conduct their affairs in strict compliance with due process.
