Thousands of Friends and supporters of former vice president ARC Mohammed<\/p>\n
Namadi Sambo tronged the Kaduna International Airport, defying rain and<\/p>\n
thunderstorm, to receive him as he returns to his home state after a<\/p>\n
five-year stint as the as the number two citizen of the country.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The presidential plane conveying the vice president touched the ground at<\/p>\n
around 7:00pm amindst heavy downpour. Despite the heavy rain, the former<\/p>\n
vice president alighted the plane to the warm embrace of his massive<\/p>\n
supporters who drove him to his Link road, Kaduna residence amidst pomp<\/p>\n
and pergenatry.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The former Vice President who was overwhelmed by the reception accorded<\/p>\n
him. He expressed his gratitude to the peope of Kaduna state for their<\/p>\n
show of love and affection and Nigerians for the mandate given to him and<\/p>\n
former President Goodluck Jonathan to serve their country for the<\/p>\n
five-period of their administration.<\/p>\n

Arc Namadi Sambo wished the new administration success while assuring that<\/p>\n
even after office he would continue to make his contributions to the<\/p>\n
development of the country.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
While praying for peace, progress and development of the country, he urged<\/p>\n
his followers to continue to respect the tenets of democracy and be law<\/p>\n
abiding and to always toe the path of peace and dialogue.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo was sworn-in as Vice President on the 10th of<\/p>\n
May 2010 following the demise of the late President Umaru Musa Yar\u2019adua<\/p>\n
and the subsequent swearing-in of President Goodluck Jonathan. Before<\/p>\n
then, he was the executive governor of Kaduna state, elected in 2007.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
During his tenure, the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan has<\/p>\n
brought a lot of development to the state amongst which were the<\/p>\n
rehabilitation of rail lines, construction of the new standard gauge rail<\/p>\n
line from Kaduna to Abuja, the 230mw Kudendan Power Plant in Kaduna<\/p>\n
Industrial Area, the 40mw Gurara Dam power plant and irrigation projects,<\/p>\n
the Hunkuyi dam and several other multipurpose small and medium dam<\/p>\n
projects across the state. Others were the establishment of the Almajirai<\/p>\n
Model Schools, upgrading and remodelling of the Kaduna International<\/p>\n
Airport, dualisation of the Jere-Bwari Road and several other road<\/p>\n
projects, amongst others.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Also during his tenure, several indigenes of Kaduna state were appointed<\/p>\n
into key positions at the federal level.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The immediate past deputy governor of Kaduna state Amb Nuhu Bajoga, Former<\/p>\n
ministers, former and serving members of the state and federal<\/p>\n
legislature, People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains in the state,<\/p>\n
former local government were amongst those that thronged the airport to<\/p>\n
receive the former Vice President.<\/p>\n
