Against the backdrop of the high scale fraud in the petroleum sector, one of the big players, Chairman, Capital Oil and Gas, \u00a0Mr Ifeanyi Ubah, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to \u00a0probe of oil marketers for the recent near-shutdown of Nigeria\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n

Ubah in a chat with newsmen on Sunday in Abuja appealed to Nigerians to support the deregulation.<\/p>\n

He also called for the removal of subsidy.<\/p>\n

According to him, this remained the way to get petroleum products at the lowest price.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He said, \u201cI have always been of the view that we should deregulate so that we can cut out corruption but unfortunately Nigerians didn\u2019t take it from Jonathan.<\/p>\n

\u201cI urge President Buhari to take a bold step and deregulate the oil sector. He is not a stranger to the sector having being a former minister of petroleum.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe will be respected for taking the step. There\u2019s no point paying subsidy when Nigerians are not benefiting from it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe president will be doing the right thing if he deregulates the sector so that the product will be sold at cheaper rate in the future.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ubah who, however, admitted that marketers were being owed by government, insisted that the manner his colleagues acted was wrong.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
