It pains me, it worries me and it disturbs me how some so called Igbo
\nleaders would gather to conspire against the political progress of
\ntheir own fellow Igbo sons and brothers. It is despicable to see some
\nIgbo leaders tearing their political clothes of integrity and
\ncredibility before the public and wearing clothes of disaffection,
\ndis-unity, clannishness and personal interest all because of political
\npositions and appointments.<\/p>\n
Our brand new President, General Muhammadu Okechukwu Buhari has
\ntold anybody who cares to listen that he would make his choice on the
\nappointment of Ministers, Ambassadors, and Secretary to the Government
\nof the Federation, Special Advisers etc, without any interference from
\nthem. He has openly told the whole world that He is for everybody and
\nhe is for nobody. President Buhari has started announcing and making
\nhis appointments public and he is now set to announce who the
\nSecretary to the Government of Federation would be. It has been
\nreportedly said that the post would be given or zoned to the
\nSouth-East. This is the crux of the matter.
\nSo many permutations have been making rounds since the post of S.G.F
\nwas reportedly zoned to South-East. Many names have been springing up
\nfrom the South East for that position. Among the names so far in
\ncirculation or contention, it appears that the name of the former
\nGovernor of old Abia State and immediate past National Chairman of the
\nDefunct All Nigeria People Party (ANPP), His Excellency Dr.
\nOgbonnaya Onu is the most credible. Bearing this fact in their minds,
\nsome political petite mafias have ganged up against this innocent,
\ndisciplined, well cultured and responsible man; with the sole aim to
\ndestroy his chances. These fraudulent political leaders are presently
\nusing all manner of tactics and tricks such as blackmail,
\nintimidation, handshake across the Niger, hobnobbing with the
\nopposition P.D.P etc, in order to frustrate this innocent man.
\nLet me open the President \u00a0mind and eyes on this serious matter;
\nGovernor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, in a bid to ensure that his
\nin-law and former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor
\nAnthony Onwuka picks or secures the position of Secretary to the
\nGovernment of the Federation (SGF) has embarked on what could be
\ntermed rough game, and mudslinging on the person and personality
\nof His Excellency Dr. Ogbonnnay Onu.<\/p>\n
First, Okorocha allegedly approached the PDP Governor of Ebonyi State,
\nEngr. Dave Umahi and enlisted his support on the plot against Dr.
\nOgbonnaya Onu who is also from Ebonyi State. He reportedly told Engr.
\nUmahi that Dr. Onu would pose a big threat and opposition to his
\ngovernance of Ebonyi State if appointed SGF. The Ebonyi State Governor
\nquickly bought the dummy and joined the NO SGF Appointment for Dr.
\nOgbonnaya Onu Crusade.\u00a0 Okorocha also reportedly approached the
\nimmediate past Governor of Rivers State and told him that he
\n(Okorocha) would support him (Amaechi) to secure an appointment in
\nBuhari cabinet but he should assist him to stop Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu
\nfrom emerging the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. And
\npronto, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has also reportedly joined the
\ncrusade. They have reportedly recruited several people in this wicked
\nplot against Dr. Onu. Also, they have gone to the South-West to seek
\nthe support of the National leader of APC, Mr. Bola Tinubu in this
\nproject. Social media, sms, text messages and newspaper publications
\nplatforms have been adopted as a means also to paint Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu
\nblack.
\nThe question anybody should ask himself is; why this madness and
\nwickedness against Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu?<\/p>\n
Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu has remained in the opposition for the past 16 years
\nof this democracy, while the people who have ganged up against him now
\nhave jumped from party A to Party B to Party C to Party D and back to
\nParty A again. They can be described as political prostitutes and fair
\nweather politicians. Dr. Onu has remained very consistent. This shows
\nthat he is a trustworthy fellow and can be trusted with any position
\nthat is as sensitive as that of SGF. What then is Okorocha\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s interest
\nin this game? In Imo State, he has all his in-laws in his cabinet. Now
\nhe wants to step up Professor Anwuka by all means. Imo State is now
\nthe personal estate of Okorocha. I have nothing against Anwuka, but
\nthe manner and way Okorocha is using him in trying to upstage another
\nman is totally ungodly. I really do not want to talk; else I will tell
\nBuhari Okorocha \u00a0real intention in this whole drama. In Imo, we know
\nwho Professor Anthony Onwuka is. President Buhari should make
\ninquiries.<\/p>\n
The SGF office needs a cool-headed man that is not controversial. If
\nPresident Buhari has made up his mind to appoint Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu,
\nthen let him go ahead and confirm him. NO SHAKING.
\nHe should not allow people with questionable characters and treasury
\nlooters to manipulate his mind. Few days ago I wrote an article
\nentitled MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT: IN DEFENCE OF BUHARI DECISION.
\nPlease see attached or google. I still stand by the content of that
\narticle. President Buhari should be very careful, else his cabinet
\nwill be Balkanized and his promise to fight corruption will end up in
\nsmoke and as a political talk. Those fighting now to have their
\nstooges appointed in various positions in Buhari cabinet are people
\nwith container loads of skeletons in their cupboard and are afraid of
\nbeing exposed and dealt with. Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu is a man with no
\nstains, at least figuratively speaking. Those fighting him are merely
\nchasing the wind. He will emerge stronger, greater and mightier to the
\nglory of Almighty God in Jesus name I pray, Amen.<\/p>\n
