{"id":39365,"date":"2015-06-09T13:01:02","date_gmt":"2015-06-09T12:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=39365"},"modified":"2015-06-09T13:01:02","modified_gmt":"2015-06-09T12:01:02","slug":"gov-udom-emmanuel-promises-to-work-with-newly-elected-speaker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/gov-udom-emmanuel-promises-to-work-with-newly-elected-speaker\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov Udom Emmanuel Promises To Work With Newly Elected Speaker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Governor Udom Emmanuel has extended a hearty congratulation to the newly\u00a0elected Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Honourable Aniekan\u00a0Uko and other members of the 6thAssembly who were inaugurated yesterday,\u00a0in Uyo.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking when the Speaker led other members of the House to pay him a\u00a0solidarity visit, Governor Emmanuel promised to work harmoniously with the\u00a06th Assembly to deepen the layers of superior performance, recalling that<br \/>\n\u201cThe 5th Assembly worked very closely with the Executive branch to give\u00a0the good people of Akwa Ibom State great service as encapsulated in the\u00a0Uncommon Transformation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am sure the 6th Assembly will also extend the same level of\u00a0co-operation and harmonious relationship to us, as we work to give our\u00a0people superior performance and bring to them the dividends of democracy.\u00a0One of the defining layers of democracy is the principle of separation of<br \/>\npower and the need for the three arms to work in strict co-operation to\u00a0advance the people\u2019s interest.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I pledge to work with you, the Speaker and your colleagues to do the\u00a0people\u2019s work. Congratulations on your emergence as the speaker and God\u2019s\u00a0speed to your honourable colleagues\u201d, Emmanuel remarked.<\/p>\n<p>The governor also commended the House over the seamless manner the\u00a0emergence of the Speaker had occurred and the spirit of love and\u00a0togetherness exhibited by others who had fought for the same position,\u00a0noting \u201cThis is a good for our democracy- the notion and belief that in\u00a0any political contestation, there must always be a winner and the winner\u00a0must be magnanimous in victory and embrace those who didn\u2019t make it.
