The President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki today eulogized the
\ncontinued bilateral relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom,
\nUK, while assuring that the present administration is determined to
\nfulfill its obligations to the betterment of the nation.<\/p>\n
The Senate President while hosting the visiting British High Commissioner,
\nDr. Andrew Pocock in his office today commended his guest for
\nreinvigorating the mutual understanding that exist between both countries.<\/p>\n
He stressed that Nigeria will always look forward to Britain in areas of
\ninfrastructural development and social security, adding, “I am very
\ndelighted to receive Your Excellency in my office barely 48 hours of my
\nresumption of office. This shows the level of commitment the British
\ngovernment has towards the course of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
“We look forward to a very good working relationship in order to move our
\ndear country forward. Nigerians deserve the best of governance.”<\/p>\n
The President of the Senate was quick to remind his guest of the task
\nahead of the new administration in the country assuring that with the
\ncollaboration from the United Kingdom those challenges are surmountable.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the British High Commissioner, Dr. Pocock congratulated the
\nPresident of the Senate on the success of his election adding that the
\nUnited Kingdom will always walk closely with the Nigerian government in
\nensuring good governance at all levels.<\/p>\n
