In\u00a0 this cacophony\u00a0 \u00a0opinions\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 are\u00a0\u00a0 diverse\u00a0\u00a0 on\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 true\u00a0\u00a0 state\u00a0\u00a0 of affairs \u00a0as\u00a0 efforts\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 reconcile the\u00a0\u00a0 divergent\u00a0\u00a0 opinions have proved futile. Reports from the\u00a0\u00a0 press\u00a0\u00a0 state\u00a0\u00a0 that four of the\u00a0\u00a0 traditional\u00a0\u00a0 rulers\u00a0\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0 already\u00a0\u00a0 been suspended. The\u00a0 EZEs\u00a0 who\u00a0\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0 been\u00a0 allegedly\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 suspended\u00a0 include\u00a0 (1) HRH\u00a0 EZE Desmond\u00a0 Ogugua, EZE\u00a0 Emmanuel\u00a0 Njemanze\u00a0 and\u00a0 two\u00a0 others. The State\u00a0 Council\u00a0 of\u00a0 Ndi Eze\u00a0\u00a0 is\u00a0 said\u00a0 to\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0 set\u00a0 up\u00a0 a\u00a0 5-man\u00a0 panel\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 try\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 affected\u00a0\u00a0 traditional\u00a0 rulers. While\u00a0 the\u00a0 EZES\u00a0 are\u00a0 pointing\u00a0 fingers\u00a0 at\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 State\u00a0 Governor\u00a0 as\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 architect\u00a0 of\u00a0 their\u00a0 travails,\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 Government\u00a0 House\u00a0\u00a0 has\u00a0 distanced\u00a0\u00a0 itself\u00a0\u00a0 from\u00a0\u00a0 complicity\u00a0 in\u00a0 the brouhaha.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0A press\u00a0 release\u00a0 issued\u00a0 from\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 Imo\u00a0 Government\u00a0 House\u00a0 states thus: <strong>\u201dThe\u00a0 attention\u00a0 of\u00a0 the Rescue\u00a0 Mission\u00a0 Government\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 state\u00a0\u00a0 has\u00a0 been\u00a0 drawn\u00a0 to\u00a0 the\u00a0 reported\u00a0\u00a0 suspension\u00a0 of\u00a0 four\u00a0 traditional\u00a0 rulers\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 state\u00a0 and\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 trial\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 more\u00a0 than\u00a0 50\u00a0 EZES\u00a0 by\u00a0 the\u00a0 state\u00a0 council\u00a0 of\u00a0 traditional\u00a0 rulers\u00a0 for\u00a0 what\u00a0 the\u00a0 Council\u00a0\u00a0 had\u00a0 described\u00a0 as\u00a0 bizarre\u00a0 manner\u00a0 with\u00a0 which\u00a0 they\u00a0 defiled\u00a0 or\u00a0 disobeyed\u00a0 the\u00a0 directive\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0 Council\u00a0 and\u00a0 the\u00a0 state\u00a0\u00a0 government\u00a0 not\u00a0 to\u00a0 honour\u00a0 any\u00a0 meeting\u00a0 convened\u00a0 or\u00a0 summoned\u00a0 by\u00a0 the\u00a0 sacked\u00a0 chairman\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 Council\u00a0 and\u00a0 deposed\u00a0 traditional\u00a0 ruler\u00a0 of\u00a0 Obinugwu\u00a0\u00a0 Autonomous\u00a0 Community, Cletus\u00a0 Ilomuanya. It\u00a0 is\u00a0 important\u00a0 to\u00a0 remark at\u00a0 this\u00a0 point\u00a0 that\u00a0 while\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 state government takes\u00a0 exception to\u00a0 the\u00a0 action\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 traditional\u00a0 rulers\u00a0 in\u00a0 question,\u00a0 it\u00a0 has\u00a0 no hand\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 suspension\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 four\u00a0 traditional\u00a0 rulers and\u00a0 the\u00a0 trial\u00a0 of more\u00a0 than fifty others\u00a0 by\u00a0 the\u00a0 Ezes\u2019 Council. The\u00a0 suspension and\u00a0 trial\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 \u00a0traditional\u00a0 rulers\u00a0 remain\u00a0 entirely\u00a0 the\u00a0 business of \u00a0\u00a0the HRM, Eze\u00a0 Samuel\u00a0 Ohiri-led\u00a0 Council. The\u00a0 State\u00a0\u00a0 Government \u00a0will\u00a0 however\u00a0\u00a0 not\u00a0 hesitate to act\u00a0 on\u00a0 the\u00a0 recommendations\u00a0 of\u00a0 the Ezes\u2019\u00a0 Council\u00a0 as\u00a0 long\u00a0 as\u00a0 it\u00a0 would be\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 interest\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 State\u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There\u00a0 is\u00a0 a\u00a0 need\u00a0 to\u00a0 say\u00a0 that\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 explanation from\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 State\u00a0 Government\u00a0 on\u00a0 this\u00a0 issue\u00a0\u00a0 is \u00a0\u00a0lackadaisical\u00a0 and\u00a0 perfunctory as\u00a0 it\u00a0\u00a0 smacks\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 treating\u00a0 a\u00a0\u00a0 serious\u00a0\u00a0 issue\u00a0\u00a0 with\u00a0 levity. It\u00a0 is\u00a0 laughable\u00a0\u00a0 for\u00a0\u00a0 Governor\u00a0 Okorocha\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 think\u00a0\u00a0 that\u00a0\u00a0 he\u00a0 can\u00a0\u00a0 convince\u00a0\u00a0 any\u00a0 right\u00a0 thinking\u00a0\u00a0 person \u00a0\u00a0in\u00a0 Imo\u00a0 State\u00a0 that\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 he\u00a0 does\u00a0\u00a0 not\u00a0\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0 a\u00a0 hand\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 present\u00a0 rumpus\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 Council\u00a0 of\u00a0 Ndi Eze. His\u00a0 perfunctory\u00a0 approach\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 such\u00a0 a\u00a0\u00a0 strategic\u00a0 issue is\u00a0 his\u00a0 trade\u00a0 mark\u00a0 approach\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0 similar\u00a0 issues\u00a0 in\u00a0 his\u00a0 first\u00a0 tenure. \u00a0Governor\u00a0 Okorocha\u2019s\u00a0 penchant\u00a0\u00a0 for\u00a0 <strong>\u00a0ventriloquism<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 is\u00a0 a\u00a0 setback\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 democracy. Each\u00a0 time\u00a0 there\u00a0 was\u00a0 a\u00a0\u00a0 serious\u00a0 problem\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0 his\u00a0 first\u00a0 tenure,\u00a0 he\u00a0 would\u00a0 feign\u00a0 ignorance\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 it\u00a0 even\u00a0 when\u00a0 he was\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 power\u00a0 behind\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 crises. This bad\u00a0\u00a0 habit\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 fomenting crises\u00a0\u00a0 and \u00a0\u00a0still feigning innocence or crass ignorance\u00a0\u00a0 of the existence\u00a0\u00a0 of such a problem is what I describe as ventriloquism. In fact, the Online Wikipedia dictionary defines ventriloquism thus<strong>:\u201dthe\u00a0 production\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 voice\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0 such\u00a0 a\u00a0 way\u00a0 that\u00a0 the\u00a0 sound\u00a0 seems\u00a0 to\u00a0 come\u00a0 from\u00a0 a\u00a0 source\u00a0 other\u00a0 than \u00a0the\u00a0\u00a0 local\u00a0 organs\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 speaker:\u201d <\/strong>After\u00a0\u00a0 serving\u00a0\u00a0 a\u00a0\u00a0 first\u00a0 tenure\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0 four\u00a0 years,\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 governor\u00a0\u00a0 should\u00a0\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 imbibed\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 culture\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 not\u00a0 shifting\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 buck. In a\u00a0\u00a0 presidential democracy, the\u00a0\u00a0 buck stops\u00a0\u00a0 on the table\u00a0\u00a0 of the\u00a0\u00a0 Chief Executive and\u00a0\u00a0 no other. While\u00a0 serving\u00a0 as\u00a0 40th\u00a0 President\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 United\u00a0 States(January 20, 1981-January 20, 1989),\u00a0 the\u00a0 then\u00a0 U.S President, Ronald\u00a0 Reagan,\u00a0 placed\u00a0 a\u00a0\u00a0 plaque\u00a0\u00a0 on\u00a0 his\u00a0\u00a0 table\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 Oval\u00a0 office\u00a0 with\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 inscription<strong>:\u201dThe\u00a0\u00a0 buck \u00a0stops\u00a0 here\u201d.<\/strong> Governor\u00a0 Okorocha should\u00a0 stop making HRM Eze Samuel Ohiri a scapegoat\/sacrificial\u00a0 lamb\u00a0 on\u00a0 an\u00a0 issue\u00a0\u00a0 he\u00a0 is\u00a0 probably\u00a0 innocent\u00a0 of. The\u00a0 Governor\u00a0 should\u00a0 stop\u00a0 fanning\u00a0 the\u00a0 embers\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0 acrimony\u00a0 and\u00a0 discord\u00a0\u00a0 between\u00a0 HRM Eze\u00a0 Samuel\u00a0 Ohiri\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 other\u00a0\u00a0 traditional\u00a0\u00a0 rulers\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0 Imo\u00a0 State. The\u00a0\u00a0 predilection of using divide and rule\/hide\u00a0 and\u00a0 seek template as a\u00a0 tool of\u00a0\u00a0 governance\u00a0\u00a0 in a\u00a0\u00a0 democracy\u00a0\u00a0 is archaic and\u00a0\u00a0 barbaric. I\u00a0 don\u2019t\u00a0 need\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0 be\u00a0\u00a0 a\u00a0 crystal\u00a0 ball\u00a0 gazer\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 know\u00a0\u00a0 that\u00a0\u00a0 HRM\u00a0 Eze\u00a0 Samuel\u00a0 Ohiri\u00a0 might\u00a0 be\u00a0\u00a0 innocent\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 all\u00a0 these\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 tomfoolery\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 buffoonery\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 ongoing\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 crisis\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 Council\u00a0 of\u00a0 Ndi\u00a0 Eze. Governor\u00a0 Okorocha\u00a0\u00a0 should\u00a0\u00a0 have\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 courage\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 declare\u00a0 where\u00a0\u00a0 he\u00a0 stands\u00a0 and\u00a0 stop\u00a0 using\u00a0 fronts\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 surrogates in\u00a0\u00a0 his\u00a0\u00a0 war\u00a0\u00a0 against\u00a0 NDI Eze. I\u00a0 expect\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 other\u00a0\u00a0 Ezes\u00a0 in\u00a0 Imo\u00a0 State to\u00a0 see beyond\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 veneer\u00a0 of subterfuge of\u00a0 Governor\u00a0 Okorocha. He\u00a0 merely\u00a0\u00a0 seeks\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 instigate\u00a0\u00a0 crises\u00a0\u00a0 among\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 Ezes\u00a0 in\u00a0 order\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0 weaken\u00a0 their\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 bargaining\u00a0 power\u00a0 over\u00a0\u00a0 their\u00a0\u00a0 rights\u00a0 which\u00a0 are \u00a0\u00a0allegedly\u00a0 being\u00a0\u00a0 trampled\u00a0\u00a0 upon\u00a0 as\u00a0 well\u00a0 as\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 incessant\u00a0 humiliation\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0 the traditional\u00a0 rulers\u00a0 in\u00a0 Imo\u00a0 State. So,\u00a0 the\u00a0 point\u00a0 being\u00a0 made\u00a0 here\u00a0 is\u00a0 that\u00a0 NDI Eze\u00a0\u00a0 should\u00a0\u00a0 stand\u00a0\u00a0 solidly\u00a0\u00a0 behind\u00a0\u00a0 their Chairman, HRM EZE\u00a0 OHIRI,\u00a0 even\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 face of\u00a0 insuperable odds. He does\u00a0\u00a0 not fit\u00a0\u00a0 into\u00a0\u00a0 the template\u00a0\u00a0 which\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 government\u00a0\u00a0 House\u00a0\u00a0 is presenting. A traditional\u00a0\u00a0 ruler\u00a0 who\u00a0\u00a0 singlehanded\u00a0\u00a0 fought\u00a0\u00a0 against the\u00a0 \u00a0alleged hegemonic\u00a0 regime of \u00a0\u00a0the\u00a0 then Governor Ikedi\u00a0 Ohakim\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 then\u00a0\u00a0 HRH\u00a0 Eze\u00a0 Cletus\u00a0 Ilomuanya\u00a0\u00a0 cannot\u00a0\u00a0 suddenly\u00a0\u00a0 be\u00a0\u00a0 packaged\u00a0\u00a0 as hostile\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 his\u00a0\u00a0 fellow\u00a0 EZES. The\u00a0\u00a0 tale\u00a0 is\u00a0 hogwash\u00a0 and\u00a0 there\u00a0 is\u00a0 a\u00a0 need\u00a0 for NDI\u00a0 Eze\u00a0\u00a0 to get\u00a0 this\u00a0\u00a0 point\u00a0\u00a0 clear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Having\u00a0 said\u00a0\u00a0 that\u00a0 much,\u00a0 there\u00a0 is\u00a0 a\u00a0 need\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 state \u00a0\u00a0that \u00a0\u00a0we,\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 analysts, are\u00a0 hamstrung\u00a0 to\u00a0 discuss\u00a0\u00a0 this\u00a0\u00a0 issue\u00a0\u00a0 dispassionately\u00a0 because the\u00a0 Babel\u00a0 and\u00a0 cacophony\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0 facts\u00a0\u00a0 make\u00a0\u00a0 it\u00a0 difficult\u00a0\u00a0 to \u00a0have\u00a0 a\u00a0 clear\u00a0 view\u00a0 of \u00a0the\u00a0\u00a0 real\u00a0 bone\u00a0 of\u00a0 contention\u00a0 in\u00a0 this\u00a0 furore. The\u00a0 only\u00a0 fact\u00a0 that\u00a0\u00a0 is\u00a0\u00a0 clear \u00a0\u00a0is\u00a0 that\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 EZES\u00a0 are\u00a0\u00a0 being\u00a0 chastised\u00a0\u00a0 because\u00a0\u00a0 they\u00a0 attended\u00a0\u00a0 a\u00a0\u00a0 meeting\u00a0\u00a0 which\u00a0 was \u00a0\u00a0allegedly\u00a0 convened\u00a0 by Cletus\u00a0 Ilomuanya, the deposed traditional\u00a0 ruler\u00a0 of\u00a0 Obinugwu\u00a0 Autonomous\u00a0 Community. The\u00a0\u00a0 meeting\u00a0 was put\u00a0 together\u00a0 in\u00a0 order\u00a0 to\u00a0 galvanize\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 EZES\u00a0 to\u00a0 attend\u00a0\u00a0 a\u00a0\u00a0 caucus\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0 honour\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 visiting\u00a0\u00a0 former\u00a0 President\u00a0 of\u00a0 Nigeria, Goodluck \u00a0Ebele\u00a0 Jonathan. My\u00a0 investigation\u00a0 reveals\u00a0\u00a0 that the\u00a0 decision\u00a0 to \u00a0ban\u00a0 the\u00a0 Ezes\u00a0 from\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 meeting\u00a0 was\u00a0\u00a0 never\u00a0 discussed\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0 any\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 meetings\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 Council. Furthermore, there was\u00a0 \u00a0no\u00a0\u00a0 written\u00a0\u00a0 document to\u00a0\u00a0 each\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 EZEs\u00a0 that\u00a0\u00a0 they\u00a0\u00a0 should\u00a0\u00a0 keep\u00a0 away\u00a0\u00a0 from\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 alleged\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 meeting. \u00a0The decision\u00a0\u00a0 was, perhaps, a brainwave of\u00a0\u00a0 someone\u00a0\u00a0 who\u00a0\u00a0 had an axe to grind with DR. Goodluck Jonathan. I doubt if any \u00a0judicial\u00a0\u00a0 officer\u00a0\u00a0 will\u00a0\u00a0 rule\u00a0 in\u00a0 favour\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 Governor\u00a0 Okorocha\u00a0 on\u00a0 this\u00a0 issue,\u00a0 should\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 EZES\u00a0 decide\u00a0\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0 test\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 case\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0 court. It\u00a0 is\u00a0 my\u00a0 opinion\u00a0\u00a0 that \u00a0\u00a0the\u00a0 traditional\u00a0 rulers\u00a0\u00a0 should\u00a0 not\u00a0\u00a0 lose\u00a0\u00a0 sleep\u00a0\u00a0 over\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 so-called\u00a0 suspension\u00a0\u00a0 or\u00a0 trial\u00a0 by\u00a0 a\u00a0 panel\u00a0 which\u00a0\u00a0 is\u00a0 headed\u00a0\u00a0 by\u00a0\u00a0 HRM EZE Chidumem\u00a0 Okoro. He\u00a0 is\u00a0 the\u00a0 Chairman, Owerri Council\u00a0 of\u00a0 Traditional\u00a0 Rulers. The\u00a0\u00a0 decision to ban\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 EZEs\u00a0\u00a0 from\u00a0 honouring\u00a0 DR. Jonathan\u00a0\u00a0 is a\u00a0 classic case\u00a0\u00a0 of transferred\u00a0\u00a0 aggression.
