Delta State Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has called on those that
\ncontested the gubernatorial election with him in the state and were not
\nsuccessful not to despair but to join hands with him in moving the state
\nforward.<\/p>\n
Olorogun O\u2019Teger Emerhor contested the just concluded governorship
\nelection under\u00a0 All Progressive Congress (APC) while Chief Great Ogboru
\nwas fielded by\u00a0 Labour Party (LP) as its governorship flag -bearer .<\/p>\n
Senator Okowa\u00a0 enjoined the gubernatorial candidates to set aside their
\ndifferences and collaborate with his administration to bring about more
\ndevelopment to the state.<\/p>\n
He also called on all political leaders to provide selfless service and
\nensure the delivering of democratic dividends to the people.<\/p>\n
Okowa also disclosed that his administration would be all inclusive as no
\nDeltan would be left behind.<\/p>\n
Governor Okowa spoke at the weekend in Otu-Jeremi, during\u00a0 a thanksgiving
\nservice and reception\u00a0 to celebrate the Peoples\u2019 Democratic Party (PDP)
\nDelta Central Senatorial District victory at the polls.<\/p>\n
He explained that as leaders elected into positions by the people they had
\na responsibility to deliver on the promises made.<\/p>\n
“The real thanksgiving is by developing a stronger relationship with the
\npeople and selfless service and my administration will continue to make
\nefforts to ensure that dividends of democracy comes to Deltans”, Governor
\nOkowa said, assuring that his administration would redeem its promise of
\nprosperity for all Deltans.<\/p>\n
He expressed gratitude to the people of Delta Central for the role they
\nplayed in delivering PDP candidates during the elections saying “In Delta
\nCentral it gladdened my heart that PDP got the majority votes during the
\nelections thereby delivering our candidates into the various positions
\nvied for”.<\/p>\n
The governor called on leaders and public office holders to stay committed
\nin their service to God and humanity saying “It is by His grace we are
\nwhere we are today and it is only when He builds our foundation can we
\nstand firm”.<\/p>\n
Senator Okowa explained that appointments given in his administration
\nwould not be gender specific as women and youths would be given
\nopportunity to thrive in the state.<\/p>\n
“I want to appeal to our leaders that you must create space for our women
\nbecause I am making appointments from a list given to me from the party in
\nthe various local government areas so please leaders include women for we
\ndo not intend to leave anybody behind”.<\/p>\n
The governor also disclosed that the reorganization of DESOPADEC would be
\nbeneficial to all Deltans assuring that no part of the state would be
\nmarginalised as \u201chis administration’s watchword is fairness, equity and
\njustice for all”.<\/p>\n
Dignitaries at the occasion were the former Deputy Governor Prof. Amos
\nUtuama, Senator Ighoyota Amori, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, Chief Edwin Uzor
