The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has berated a chieftain of the All
\nProgressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, for accusing the North of
\nconspiring against Yoruba\u2019s in the current face-off in the party.<\/p>\n
A statement issued on Wednesday by Malam Muhammad Ibrahim, ACF National
\nPublicity Secretary, dismissed Akande\u2019s reported allegations as
\n\u201cdisappointing, reckless and unbecoming of an elder statesman.\u201d<\/p>\n
It said that the forum was disturbed with the current squabbles in the
\nruling party, just like other well meaning Nigerians desirous of stability
\nand progress of the nation.<\/p>\n
The statement cautioned politicians not to whip up tribal and regional
\nsentiments which Nigerians had voted against in the last election.<\/p>\n
\u201cArewa Consultative Forum (ACF) considers such statement as uncharitable
\nand a deviation from the main agenda of change which Nigerians voted for.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe era of tribal and religious politics or inciting one tribe over the
\nother has no place in our present political focus.<\/p>\n
\u201cACF therefore appeals to our elders and all Nigerians to show decorum and
\ncivility in their utterances, as all hands should now be on deck to move
\nthe nation forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cPresident Muhammadu Buhari needs the support and understanding of all
\nNigerians especially his party men and women to clean the mess he
\ninherited.
\n\u201cNigerians expect so much from Buhari\u2019s administration. Please help and
\nallow him to perform\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the crisis at the National Assembly must be
\naddressed through the party\u2019s internal mechanism of resolving conflicts.
