The Presidency today said all is set for a meeting tonight between, President Muhammadu Buhari and Speaker Yakubu Dogara.<\/p>\n

The meeting which will hold at the presidential villa, will also have members of the party’s House caucus in attendance.<\/p>\n
Spokesman Garba Shehu who made the disclosure earlier today in Abuja was however \u00a0silent on any move by Buhari to sort things out with Senate President, Bukola Saraki.<\/p>\n
Last week Saraki assured that you the upper chamber would reconvene anytime Buhari is ready with his list of ministers.\u200e\u200e\u200e<\/p>\n
Wednesday\u2019s scheduled meeting will be the first open meeting between Buhari, Dogara and his caucus since he was elected Speaker ahead of his party\u2019s nominee for the post, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Buhari had first met with Dogara privately on Monday to workout modalities for Wednesday night\u2019s meeting. A source with knowledge of the meeting confirmed that the two men discussed extensively on ways to end the conflict in the House.<\/p>\n
It was gathered that those who attended the meeting included Dogara\u2019s ace challenger, who lost his bid to the incumbent, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Hon Alhassan Ado Doguwa and Hon Mohammed Tahir Monguno.<\/p>\n
All the three, with Hon Pally Iriase, were on the list that the party sent to Dogara for appointment as Principal Officers of the 8th Assembly. But Dogara set aside the APC\u2019s endorsement on the pretext that the North Central caucus is in court challenging the party\u2019s decision on the matter.<\/p>\n
\u00a0According to the speaker, \u201ceven before\u00a0 \u00a0I saw the letter, there was a court process served to leadership of the House. What they are alleging is very simple: whether it is in accordance with the constitution of Nigeria and the House rules that a political party has the right to chose the principal officers of the House.<\/p>\n
